People are obsessed with image. The way something appears. They’re crazy for it. Slim, Lean, Smooth Skin, Big Breasts, Round Ass, Muscely Arms, Rugged Face, Beautiful Hair, Lovely Eyes, Big Lips, Thick Thighs, Small Nose, Trimmed Eyebrows, Tall, Short, Light Skin, Dark Skin. That’s all they think about. Image. I’ve been working out lately because it’s one of the few outlets that makes me forget. I’m getting progress after 4 months. I often catch myself looking in the mirror. Half a year ago I would have nothing but disgust, but now I feel something I’m not quite familar with. Pride. I’m disgusted that I feel this emotion. I’m just a damn hypocrit. I hate the concept of image, but here I am looking at myself in the mirror. I’m more self conscious about how I look. Like the rest of them. Disgusting. Pathetic. Why is it that we obsess over such trivial matters? Why are we so attracted to image? They say that a man who is rich tends to be attracted to more slender women. In their heads, it’s because they provide for him. A woman looks for a strong man, because in their heads they can provide and get things done. Now I know people are more complex than that. There are intricate systems at work when a person feel “attraction” to another. But image still plays it’s part. It’s the first thing we recognize when we meet a person. How they look. Is it possible to go beyond image? I would say so. I’ve seen many guys strike it lucky and end up with a nice girl. Regardless of the fact that he’s rather plain. But in the end she’s still attracted to his image. Why? Why is there so much variance between people? I’m rambling. Image. Now that’s an inigma.

You’re buying into a load of crap.
I think genuine people seek genuine people.
It’s in the eyes.
I completely agree with this. I think people can fall in love with each other even if the only thing that they see are the other person’s eyes.
I knew a pair of identical twins once. I couldn’t tell the one apart from the other, until I looked into their eyes.
Exactly, the eyes can tell us a great deal about a person.
I think people look at image to determine is someone is healthy, even though people who look “fat” can still be healthy..
But if you care about someone you’d see past external looks, and care about the person, personality wise.. to somewhat echo the statements of my Witty friend 😉
