I live in India and have searched for rooftops in many buildings, but none have accessible rooftops. Looks like the only ways of killing yourself here is by hanging from the ceiling fan, which is torturous.
This is ridiculous. On one hand, the govt treats people’s lives like shit, on the other hand people aren’t even allowed to end their own lives. When will this bullshit end.

Isn’t it strange, religious beliefs aside, that war and battle is turned to as a solution for political and ideological conflicts, strategies that require the piling up and counting of casualties and determining the amount of property damage as a means of declaring victory, yet self inflicted death is frowned upon as being – bad. A really bizarre concept, whether one is for or against suicide. Hope your day has something positive, madh.
Couldn’t agree more
The thing is that suicide rarely benefits anybody apart from the guy committing suicide, while war is profitable. Plus, politicians try not to raise issues like euthanasia that will get them ostracized from a public that is largely non suicidal and is therefore too much self centered to understand the suffering of suicidal people.
In one word, we are a society of hollow people now.
Exactly M- suicide is not profitable, hence the “taboo.” In many past societies, suicide was common, and even praised or expected- from the elderly or sick. They go to the outskirts of their town, to a remote hut where they’d stay behind. It benefited the society (scarce resources) and it was standard practice for many olden societies. Nowadays, there’s too much money to be made with ridiculously expensive hospital visits and anti-depression pills to have all the cash-cows kill themselves. Nope, can’t have that.
Ye$. Excellent point$. Service of money before service of humanity.
If you’re afraid of a few minutes of pain, then you’re not ready to go. Those who succeeded were more concerned with not failing the attempt. If there is even 1% of hope left in you, visit the “I Will Survive” and “Stories Of Hope” section of this site. There are always options, you just gotta be patient and explore them.
There are many who have waited for physician assisted euthanasia, and have opted for it once they get the approval.
“Quick and painless methods of suicide” is one of the number 1 search options on Google. Pain is a part of suicide which many are not willing to endure. If a fact as simple as this hasn’t been understood by you then you’re not even old or understanding enough to be on this site.
I know what I’m talking about because I googled “Quick and painless methods of suicide” myself before too. I understand it fully because I was there countless times. After all my research, I came to the realization that the ones who really succeeded with their suicides were ones that didn’t even consider the pain, they just up and did it. I’m still here for the same reason you are, searching for the best option. The day I end myself is the day pain is no longer a roadblock for me. I know sites like “DIGNITAS” and “Exit International” but sometimes how ready you are is not about physical pain, it’s about psychological ones strong enough to overpower the fear of physical pain.
