Saw a coupon for $15 off $75, so what’d I do? Spent the last 2 hours of my life looking for more crap to buy. And I had literally *just* bought a bunch of stuff just night too. Which is how I had more stuff to my “wish list” when I saw the coupon.
So when I saw the coupon today, I was like, “well, I had wanted to get a bunch of stuff anyway…might as well get them at 20% off.” But of course what happens is that you only wanted “x” number of stuff but you wind up buying “3x” the number of stuff because you need the cart to add up to $75. And of course, the last $15 was the most difficult to add. If I hadn’t bought the stuff yesterday, I would’ve just added the stuff to my cart today instead of browsing around searching for more crap on ebay…
And now I’m wasting more time writing about how I just wasted a bunch of time (and money)… Oy…
Caved in to consumerism… Double Oy…

Well, it’s good to vent. I once bought an inflatable exercise ball to do back exercises with over the phone. It was an automated system, and they forced me to listen to option after option after option, each one detailing all the wonderful benefits of upgrading to other wonder balls and additional equipment, purchasing dvd’s of workout lessons, workout clothing, resistance bands, and other such stupidity before I could place my order for my dumb little ball, which sucked when it actually arrived.
I was furious, but what do we expect? They had me by the . . . Well, you know.
I only really wanted half of the crap I bought. And none were “needs.” On the other hand, they were all individually very cheap, just when you add it all up, $68.05…
It adds up quick, huh?
sadly. i wish i had unlimited income and resources. wouldn’t that be nice? where’s my wishing genie?
Over at Amazon, for $25.00, but – if you spend $50.00, . . . 😉
dont feel to bad i have a $2000 bill at paypal credit, from buying shit on ebay
Jeez, what you been buying at ebay? 2k?
I spent like crazy this month. Signed up for Amazon prime for once and with the free 1 or 2 day shipping I starting filling the void of my life by having packages show up every few days. I know what you mean about trying to spend enough to take advantage of a certain deal. If I had known about that eBay coupon I would have used it to get something else I wanted. Looks like I missed it. 🙁
Aw sorry mate, but maybe it’s for the best 😛
“I starting filling the void of my life by having packages show up every few days” -> YES, THAT
I’ve been a total eBay fanatic these past few weeks too.
Some of it was disability-related equipment I honestly needed.
Other stuff… Wasn’t.
LOL
But hey.
I was reading through the posts in lurker mode (as usual) and this made me chuckle so i had to comment on it, because i was trying to use that 15 out of 75 coupon yesterday too, lol. I eventually forgot about it and didn’t use it, but yeah, it’s easy to start spending and make a habit out of it.
Not that it’s good advice, but the way i (sort of) cured myself from buying way too much stuff is doing something else that takes that craving away (fairly obvious, but still took me a while to realize). So now i go to see a movie once a week and that (no idea why) makes me less prone to buying stuff. The movie tickets are costly too, but spending 5 bucks a week sure beats 50-100 a week, lol.
Dang, where do you live where movie tickets are still $5? lol Where I’m at, they keep jacking up the price. It’s now like $15!! 🙁
