Change your poison, man. I’ve found that different alcohols and even different brands make a difference. Life sucks any way you take it, but some drinks take the edge off while others ramp it up. I’m not gonna tell you to quit because trust me I know how it is. But sometimes the drink can be part of your rut. Know what I mean? Come home, take a swig of Jack and think about killing yourself, over and over, it becomes a routine. So maybe treat yourself to a fruity rum drink and stick a freaking umbrella in it or whatever. Sometimes I can fool myself into feeling sophisticated by mixing myself a proper martini. Alcoholism can be fun!!!
Quitting sucks, but drinking sucks more. Please quit. Please find the root and what causes you to drink. Start to get help with what’s wrong in your life and then find other healthy and enjoyable ways to relax. Life sucks but you can totally move past that by finding other ways to mentally and emotionally process things and learn healthy ways to vent. Perhaps choose self care over alcohol?

So there are two problems, right?
1) Something drives you to drink. What is it? (Emotional issues)
2) Once you start, you can’t stop (Chemical dependency)
