“This ancient and mysterious charm conjures a magical guardian, a projection of all your most positive feelings. The Patronus Charm is difficult, and many witches and wizards are unable to produce a full, corporeal Patronus, a guardian which generally takes the shape of the animal with whom they share the deepest affinity. You may suspect, but you will never truly know what form your Patronus will take until you succeed in conjuring it.“—Miranda Goshawk‘s overview of the Patronus Charm[src]
I had left my wand behind since Tuesday. I can’t believe I misplaced it and it should have come when I called for it, but it did not. I was left with a nasty job on Tuesday and I must say I made a grave mistake in judgement that nearly cost me this life. Looking back now and giving much thought to ‘this life‘, it is a rather small insignificant thing in the grand scheme of the universe and all it’s mysteries. Perhaps there is another life after this one, or perhaps not. This is unclear. However, It’s all I have at the moment, so, I must be ever watchful and take care of it as best I can.
Yesterday, Thursday, I stood alone on the cliff of Forever-Lost battling the unbalanced internal siege that plagues this mind from time to time. It was my own damn fault. There’s a certain place where the molten magma runs so hot that to merely think of it is enough swoop my feet out from under and leave me bleeding and incapacitated for days. I did more than think of it, I ran my finger over it’s scaly dry skin in, what I thought, was a daring test of will. In essence, I invited the demons in. They did engulf me and drag me under nearly to my doom.
As I battled the demons, taking it’s blows to my head, and feeling its razor sharp dagger piercing my mind the Patronus Charm glimmered for a brief second and caught my eye. With what was left of my mind I reached out and screamed; EXPECTO PETRONUS and at exactly the same moment my wand burst forth in my hand and I pointed it at the dementors. The charm enlarged it’s brilliant white saving light and scattered the demons leaving me gasping for breath, but saved and whole.
I vow to keep balanced and never be tempted again by the lure of ‘that-place-that-must-not-be-named.’
The struggle for balance continues.

Great pic
If only it were that easy.
But if I could summon a Patronus it would probably be a giant slug.
Heh whatever, as long as it does the job.
Right. Just get the job done
Bit of trivia: leopard slugs have enormous penises that emerge out of the sides of their heads. And both members in a mating session have a penis. Every leopard slug has a penis. It’s all very strange and confusing.
It looks like one of Santa’s magical reindeer ran away and decided to go free range in space.
