I would like to know what do you think/how do you feel about the fact that avicii oficially killed himself, I wasnt his biggest fan but I liked him as an artist, but for some reason I feel incredibly sad because of his dead and it was the first time I cried because a famous person died.

Makes me respect him. I don’t know if it is truth that it was suicide. I respect him either way. If he killed himself it just goes to show he was man enough to take his life into his own hands.
To be honest, I never heard of him. But after his death I did some research.
I think it’s sad. I’m reading that he cut his throat with glass. He must’ve been in terrible pain to do that. I tried to cut my throat. It’s not easy to do.
However, since I don’t know that much I can’t render an opinion. If his physical health was failing that brings up other right to die issues. If he did it in a moment of despair, it’s a sad waste of a beautiful life.
I read about him before it was speculated he had committed suicide.
Suicide by broken glass sounds too slow and too painful.
I been thinking of hanging myself
Ya I wasn’t a fan either but he’s put out some great songs I really liked. I agree with the others, suicide by broken glass seems like an odd way to go, but his family seemed to confirm that he was suicidal so I take it for what it is.
I guess having a ton of money, fame and everything that comes with it wasn’t enough for him. Perhaps he was experiencing depression or other mental illness. Too bad he gave it all up at 28. Oh what I’d give to go back to my 20s and do things the right way…well esp now that I’m in my 40s and have learned so much since then.
First off, I feel like quite a lot of famous people are offing themselves (or dying prematurely) lately. I find that in itself concerning. If some of our most “successful” members of society are that unhappy, what does that say about our society? Maybe not much. I know these things used to happen in the past, but by the late ’90s/early ’00s, I though we had moved past that. Apparently not.
Secondly, when I first saw pictures of the guy, I though he looked like a douche. But I love his melodies. And then learning more about him, I feel a lot of sympathy for the guy. Seems like he was a sensitive dude. Also, even if his music held broad appeal, I really think he had something to offer. Writing good melodies is not easy. Neither is putting the whole thing together.
Seems like fame did him in. As has happened to so many others. If you’re a sensitive soul, it probably doesn’t help to have everyone idolizing you (which is dehumanizing), and it probably doesn’t help to be under tremendous pressure and scrutiny with virtually unlimited funds and easy access to – in his case – alcohol.
If you look at the last pictures of him, he does not look healthy, and he had already had two organs removed, maybe due to too much heavy drinking. Really sad. Scandinavia just has a f***ed up drinking culture. Increasingly, that seems to be true of the West, or even the world as a whole.
R.I.P.
Also, apparently there’s a documentary about him, where you see him break down crying on tour, and no one in his entourage seems to know what to do. They just sort of leave him alone. Which is terrible.
Exactly! I just watched the documentary and you can see clearly that the industry put him into so much pressure and he suffered from anxiety and no one around him seemed to understand, and drinking before shows helped him control it, thats why he stopped touring, it was too much anxiety/alcohol problems for him, but it was too late I guess. Its sad.
