I don’t think that’s going to happen, they will have a cure in a year or so. While I agree there are billions of loathsome humans out there who should be dead, I disagree on the extinction of the human race.
I’d like to see the best humans live on and colonize this galaxy and beyond. Life can be great if everyone was beautiful, healthy, intelligent and doing fine financially. I believe those are the biggest sources of misery for humanity. We’ll never have a utopian society but things could certainly be a lot better than what we have today.
“colonize the galaxy” so you want the human race to destroy the universe like they did earth?
Even the “innocent” ones are at fault. All those animals that are killed by veichles daily. The person driving the vehicle didn’t mean to. But if they weren’t driving it, it wouldn’t have happened. Animals moving into cities because we are destroying their homes.
Humans, every single one of them, are thoughtless self-centered murderers. Either directly or indirectly. A life is a life, human or not, we are all animals that reside on this planet.
The Earth hasn’t been destroyed. Yes there is pollution but we are working to solve these issues, in fact solutions already exist like recycling and plasma-gasification of waste. Ofc much more still needs to be done, we must stop polluting rivers/oceans as well but that takes gov’t action.
As for animals, it’s possible to find ways to coexist with them but as a species we matter far more since we have intelligence and we’re the only species that can travel among the stars, eventually.
But the problem is the overpopulation we’re experiencing, esp. in the poor nations on Earth. That must be dealt with also. Poor people having kids only spreads more misery and suffering.
However you’ll find most people don’t share your vision and the species will continue regardless of what anyone has to say. Colonizing other planets doesn’t mean we’ll destroy them since we’ll have learned to better manage resources.
I personally just had the rat-race/capitalism and have worked most of my life to get out of it. I believe I might be able to pull that off in the next few years and then I can enjoy life. But if I fail, it’s not a big deal, we aren’t going to live forever anyways and I’ll seek my exit from this life.
@DOA I hate doing this because I sound American but deer population gets crazy. In my hometown, you’ll either find someone petting the deer or hitting it by mistake, throwing it in their truck, and making jerky out of it. Sometimes everybody wins
I was kind of hoping I could catch Corona and die quietly at home (before I realized how low the mortality rate is.) No guilt. no responsibility, just peace. Then I researched what it’s like to actually die from viral pneumonia. It ain’t pleasant – your lungs fill with fluid and you slowly suffocate , struggling for breath. I wouldn’t wish that on anybody.
All this outbreak will do is increase the amount of grief and suffering in the world. Nothing will be improved.
There are times when I want everyone to just die. But this won’t be that.
umm…..i hate to pop trumps little magical bubble but thats not how these things work LOL and you guys (americans (some americans not everyone voted for him)) voted him in huh? i knew he was stupid but…..wow. can he take trudeau with him? we have our weed he can go now, all he does is kiss ass
The apathy, if not outright psychopathy, of the majority of forum posters pretty much reinforces the stereotype that suicidal people are losers who deserve to die. Before you cheer for the deaths of 1 billion people you’ve never met, you might want to volunteer at one of the nursing homes where old folks are dropping like flies. These are people who lived long, meaningful lives, who ended up getting abandoned in their old age, and now they’re dying APPLAUDED BY F’s LIKE YOU. Go ahead an inherit the earth, tough guys.
did it occur to you that maybe we dont mind if people die because people fucked us over and its their fault were suicidal. so before you call people down you should probably stand in their shoes for awhile, until then you have no right to judge them
Teresa’s Child…. To tell a suicidal person they “deserve” to die isnt an insult as if theyre immune to abuse to themselves…. Sick and scary logic unless youre just speaking for yourself. Then it’s okay if you dont speak for everyone with a broken heart.
You want to see a group of (suicidal) people end up dead, but you’re bothered when that same group have a similar desire and then you pretend to have the moral high-ground. Ironic much?
But you’re also wrongly lumping us together. In the OP’s case he doesn’t care who dies, he just wants the human race to disappear.
In my case I would like to see the worst dregs of humanity gone, the terrorists/religious loons, poor people who can’t afford kids but have a dozen of them anyways and drain society or the welfare system and their kids get into crime because they’re poor or don’t want to work.
Humanity is better off without them and I’m sure most sensible people would agree with my position, not that we could do anything about it, but change always starts with good ideas that are turned into policy/action.
As for volunteering in nursing homes, nobody GAF if other people lived meaningful lives. My life is only meaningful to me. I respect those who’ve contributed to others or humanity (like teachers or Einstein for example) but I’m not here to serve anyone else, if you think it’s noble to be someone else’s helper or slave, good for you but it seems you do it more for getting attention, “Look everyone, I’m so great cause I help weak people” is the vibe I’m getting from you…really it’s about stroking your own ego.
Wishing death upon others makes you an asshole and certainly no better than others who wish the same, so at least drop your pretense of being holier-than-thou, cause you’re not.
Isn’t there more then 1 billion people? If I’m wrong then ignore this.
The OP didn’t really specify. Maybe they meant just a random 1 billion or….there are a lot of self-centered assholes that only care about themselves. It’s possible they meant them but like I said they didn’t specify and the way it is worded I can’t exactly disagree that they most likely meant random people.
DOA, yes he meant random people but he wants humanity to die off, not something I agree with. I believe the rotten people need to go but that’s also somewhat subjective.
Anyways, there isn’t anything anyone can do about it. I do believe we should have a ‘peaceful pill’ or suicide booths for people who want to end their lives, it should be the easiest thing to do.
We’re all just a product of sperm and egg from two people who put us here and many of us feel our lives were a mistake. Society should make it easy to fix that error. Being forced to live a bad life is one of the worst punishments of all.
Again he did not specify that. You really shouldn’t make assumptions.

@instantkarma
It’s hard to take your comment on apathy seriously.
Now, I understand your resentment for people that seem to lack empathy. You actually seem to be quite the humanitarian, thinking of other people.
Except, people were describing a craving to see a “world,” (separate from themselves and their loved ones ) destroyed. They didn’t directly wish for loved ones etc to be rid of. This says, to me, that if someone with this logic were working in a nursing home, that generally, in my opinion, they wouldn’t wish harm on these people, around them.
Then you have to think about politics with these types of issues… or maybe decisions on where your money would go if you could choose one charity over another… Would you rather give a dollar to a friend for a coke or send it to a person in poverty overseas? Or idk… What does empathy look like in people when it’s concerns over casualties in war…. “Who’s the better man in battle,”because here, there’s only one winner, one winner that was “born and raised” and “far from home”
But anyways, you aren’t really pissed about something unknown to you, like a gigantic world where pain can be endless blowing up in disease….. It honestly sounds like you have experience working in a nursing home….and projected empathy for people in a nursing home…because it’s something close to you idk (I dont see what it has to do with anything) Something close to home. Get me? Lol And with you being in this group, it’s baffling that you would throw everyone here under the bus over a loose logic that really just expresses angst and would never actually happen. You really are just an abusive person raging behind a keyboard….. just pitiful…..

Trump says it’s going to “just go away.” Maybe he’ll go away with it.

@Once Trump said he began avoiding touching his face because of the coronavirus scare, only minutes later, he touched his face…… Lol
