It’s a fifty fifty proposition the way I see it. There is, or there isnt. None of us can know for certain in the here and now. Religion and all its stories make people fear angry deities and eternal torment…meh. Once you find a way to recognize the nature of what religion is (a tool for manipulation and control through fear and guilt), it can help ease the fear of death. I have no idea what, if anything, happens next. It’s taken me decades to overcome the fears of Catholicism and Christianity and the stories they tell. Personally, I’m hoping to experience a lost love after my death, but if there is “nothing” after this life, that’s ok. Probably better.
for me it seems like there is life after death – as our body decay all sorts of life happens – worms and in some cases wild animals eat our flash and we give life as nature is designed to give it after death (as far as we are not incinerated to dust which is truly a waste of good food). regarding the so called soul – its just a figment of our imagination IMO..
After a long 3 years of search, and of refusing to believe in anything that I couldn’t test for myself, I concluded that there is the afterlife, because our reality is built over another one. On top of that other reality sits enthroned our Lord Jesus Christ, the endless overflowing fountain of Love, Mercy, Wisdom, Forgiveness and everything good.

I don’t believe in death, this existence seems too… callow. But after our physical bodies pass away, I don’t know. I have no idea.
