If you came from another room with hot cocoa I’m assuming you’re drinking it so it’ll be half empty.
Another consideration is whether you want what’s in the glass to be there. I.e. If someone is peeing in a cup and it is half full that isn’t necessarily a good thing. Just saying.
it’s half full if I’m going to add something to it and half empty if I’m planning on drinking it. otherwise it’s not my problem and I probably wouldn’t think of it in any more concrete terms than [someone]’s cup or a used cup
