Moreso I hate the people who ride them. I just did a ride to downtown and back and it was almost perfect, so close. However, fricken urban renewal, in the middle of the ride I had to pass through the new park. I’m trying to be inclusive and not hate on it, even though it adds a mile of unnecessarily complicated and frustrating trail to what is otherwise an absolutely lovely bit of riding.
I got through the north bound with no problems at all. Lured me into a false sense of security. I thought surely I had seen all the silly things I would see on this ride
but on the way back, huge hill they added so that the trail can meet up with a bridge over the road; these two assjackets. One puttering along very slow, and she would have been fine if it weren’t for her, boyfriend? brother? special accessory to antagonize everyone on the trail? That.
He’s doing FIGURE EIGHTS, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROUGHEST HILL IN THE WHOLE RIDE, ON HIS STUPID SCOOTER.
and I was going to roll it off, keep moving, focus on the good, surely that’s all the trouble I can get from him
NOPE, they decide to pass me, then slow down. I had to ride behind them for TWO MILES. I just stopped trying, went as slow as was physically possible. Because he’s still doing figure eights. There isn’t room to do figure eights, there’s barely room to pass, and there is so much other pavement on this route that is better suited for that.
So yeah, I hate motorscooters, and I might have to start torching them when I find them abandoned all over the place. Do the whole cycling community a solid
I did somewhere around 10 miles though, and the weather was choice lovely.

Yes, it’s the people behind the vehicles that are the asshats. For me, my hate is for bicyclists (no not ppl like you) but ppl who ride bicycles in the city ON THE FUCKING SIDEWALK where pedestrians walk. These asshats don’t want to bike on the street where they’re supposed to be, bc there’s cars on the road. Yes sure, cars are dangerous for bicyclists on the road, but bicyclists are dangerous for pedestrians on the sidewalk- which is why it’s fucking ILLEGAL to bike on a sidewalk- but the asshats in the last city I was at consistently did it ALL the fucking time. I was almost hit with bikes more than a few times. A few of them ran over my feet, fucking asshats. Made me want a car to run THEM over -_-
and yes, those are the same asshats that bike right in front of a car, won’t let the car pass them, and go slow as fuck, so car drivers are understandably pissed at them too.
that’s exactly why I do mostly trail riding, I hate the dance with cars, me getting in their way most of the time. It isn’t safe, so I haven’t done much apart from the short bit of neighborhood between me and the trail.
and I just want the freedom of it. The struggle against my body, against the wind, against the weather. It’s a subversion of many of the pleasant parts of a good ride. I like watching people teaching their kids to ride, joggers, other cyclists, people playing disc golf…..
and I’d gladly give up some of my convenience for any of those the trail is meant to be a mixed use space for. It specifically says no motorized vehicles, motorscooters aren’t supposed to be permitted. I just don’t know if I can make a big enough stink about it to get the park cops to care.
Yes this park is so big it has park cops, and they passed me and that jerk and didn’t do a damn thing.
i suppose you could call the city park and put in a complaint, and see if it goes anywhere. those asshats will likely be back at the park again doing the same shit.
god, at this point, i just hate humans. everything about humans annoy me tf out of me now. hell, these asshats weren’t even the ones in front of me, but just hearing about it reminds me of ALL the asshats doing similar annoying or dangerous shit (either drivers, bikers, scooters, or cyclists). I HATE idiot humans. I HATE ppl who are inconsiderate af. And America is full of it. I hear that in most other countries, ppl are MUCH better behaved. Another reason why I hate the USA -_-
