I like how this is all past tense, like “oh this used to be a problem”, well wake up, it still is. I dread to inform you that I, what I consider a fairly normal midwestern man have at least ten pockets in my everyday outfit IN SUMMER. In winter it can reach such absurd highs as 30 pockets, 30 pockets is an insane amount of pockets.
I particularly like the point where men are compared to marsupials, because that’s what we are, throughout life we aquire more pockets. It is also an interesting contrast, my wife will often inform me of the issue of not enough or low quality pockets in women’s garments, and then we have menswear…
Then there’s the stuff we put in them, which has been an obsession of mine lately. In modern times it’s called “Everyday Carry or EDC”, and includes at least a cell phone, wallet, flashlight, lighter, knife, prybar, pen, and pliers. The video lists more, indicating that the modern EDC is nothing more than a revival of a victorian fad.
and I haven’t even gotten into wearing clothes with additional pockets, or sewing additional pockets on. I dare not buy myself cargo pants, because I do not have the bandwidth for such things.
I think the point is that men are by and large silly silly creatures, covered in pockets, with absurdly comfortable clothing.
