That’s entirely up to you,. The fee is what you have to worry about. You also have to make sure the staff/particular hospital and inpatient is good and won’t just leave you alone to isolate your room with a lot of alone time and just meds. There should be a giood schedule and people/staff you can talk to. Maybe there are ratings online.
well, it’s never too early to seek out therapy, if that’s the thrust of what you’re asking, same as getting a checkup from a doctor, almost always a good idea, what’s the worst outcome? You spend an hour in the office and they say you need more emotional adjustment? that’s what you already suspected, now confirmed by a professional
check yourself into an inpatient hospital though? are you a danger to yourself or others, or do you feel that is about to happen? That’s usually the thing for it.
keep in mind, this is coming from my local rules and regulations, it may well be different where you are.
You can check in any time, there is no “right time.” Sometimes you have to call ahead and see if there’s a bed available. Most times most places are packed (depending on where you live) and the better places especially have a harder time getting in. Do your research ahead of time for nearby mental health places and see what the ratings/reviews are.

Are you the one who’s wife got into a bad car accident? And money issues? How is that whole situation going?
