Ever notice how the news media “normally does not report on suicide cases unless there is a significant Public Issue” but the minute there’s a pretty young blonde girl who kills herself, especially if they can dig up photos of her cleavage, all the news outlets scramble to put her on the front page?
If you’re curious, just go to google news and type in suicide.
It’s so disgustingly hypocritical and shamelessly exploitive that it makes me want to jump off a flagpole. But I’m neither a girl nor blonde nor sporting cleavage so they’d just hose me off the pavement and carry on.

When a cute little white girl goes missing, The news media stops to report on it 24/7, and cops actually try to find her. If you’re not a cute little white girl and you go missing, well tough shit. That’s America for you.
Exactly, it’s so damn disgusting.
Wouldn’t it be funny if someone did a study on how many missing persons cases were solved and what percentage of them were cute little white girls.
Also if the story ends with a SA’d corpse the media milks it for another cycle or two. If she’s found safe and unharmed the show’s over.
I’m sure all the info on that is suppressed.
There was a case where this black man was known by the police to be raping and killing black women. This went on for over a decade, But the cops never did a single thing. To them, he was “cleaning up the streets” ( no his victims were not prostitutes, just poor and black). But the second he raped and killed a white woman, that is when they finally arrested him.
That’s reality for ya.
“That’s reality for ya.”
I swear it sounds like a screenplay for a satirical dark comedy, but no satire necessary. This crap is real life
I remember my first lesson in “news” reporting was when I was a kid and there was a string of killings of prostitutes, and the news media (well, talk radio which is slimier than slime) was openly saying shit about how the killer is cleaning up the streets, joking about how he’s a lowkey hero, calling him the “ho choker”, and here’s me a little kid with no concept of what these words mean, just thinking “human beings are being murdered and adults laugh?”
It’s fucked up how quickly society judges others, based on looks, based on their profession, based on what they were wearing, etc. And without meeting the victims or hearing a single word they have to say, condemn them to death?
But the media is there because we (society) are paying them to do this. So the media is an accurate mirror of society.
Yea we’re screwed. Nothing can fix this.
Actually, I think a few of his victims were prostitutes but the majority wasn’t. But still, they did say he was “cleaning up the streets.” I forget what city this was in but it was a ghetto neighborhood.
Also, I think
1- prostitution should be legal
2- how are prostitutes worse than some professions? There are many legal professions way slimier than prostitution
3- if you are caught with a little weed or fun party drug, you’re put in jail longer than rapists and sex traffickers
Ok dude- explain to me how it’s NOT ok to pay a person for sex but it is perfectly OK to pay a person to have sex and film it and call it porn?
Are they not the same fucking thing, except you shove a camera in one instance and not the other.
If one is legal, the others should be legal too. Or if one is illegal, the other should also be illegal.
There are many countries who have legalized prostitution. And it is regulated so it’s actually better and safer for the sex workers as well as the clients.
Why does America make it illegal? I guarantee you it’s because the prostitution King Pins make money off of sex trafficking so if you make it legal, they won’t make all that money anymore. King Pins like Epstein/ rich ppl.
Holy shit, your bottom line conclusion… Of course! It’s logical, it’s business. Eliminate the freelance competition so that the megacorps can get in bed with each other and set all the rules. Same thing about politics, the megacorps being Dems & Repubs with the freelancers being Bernie and other independent minded thinkers
Anyway back to prostitution, I totally totally totally agree with every point you made. Yea the porn industry, stick a camera on prostitution and it’s legal???
Also I agree that it should be legalized, just like weed and recreational drugs. These things are going to exist no matter what, like alcohol, and we should’ve learned our lesson with the corruption and violence of Prohibition, is that the best thing is to just legalize it and do your best to make it safer, so at least people aren’t selling literal formaldehyde.
With prostitution, I think it’s horrible the risks that these women take, the abuse and trauma that they get saddled with, and on top of it murdered and laughed about? When most of the time they have literally no other way of making rent.
There’s a movie called Klute from the 70s starring Jane fonda as a high priced prostitute who gets wrapped up in the investigation of one of her friends who was murdered. The movie is great and Jane Fonda won an Oscar I think, but what’s even more hard hitting is the interviews with Jane. She talks about how she prepared for the role by visiting hospitals & morgues and seeing all the battered, abused & dead prostitutes that keep flooding in, and no one gives a shit.
There’s a famous scene in the movie where Jane loses it, starts ugly crying, and according to her it wasn’t in the script it was real because she was just thinking of all those dead bodies she saw.
Anyway long ramble over, yea I totally agree that prostitution should just be accepted as the way it’s been and always will be as long as men have dicks. So society should cut the crap, cut the judgement, cut the VIOLENCE, and just work prostitution (as well as weed) into society like alcohol. It’ll always be problematic but maybe it’ll be slightly safer.
You didn’t mention she was blonde, what a surprise! HA! On a college campus, for a football game, young adult, everybody would have wanted to have sex with her and now she’s dead, oh what a tragedy……
I’m getting to be less of a nice person by the day, the milk of human kindness has gone off in me. The thing is that I’m sure thousands of people exactly her age with different hair colors kill themselves, but it’s not on a college campus, and they aren’t as hot.
This post is going to age like hot milk too, to be fair, give it a week or two and everybody will forget her name. Everyone apart from her family, and the families of suicide survivors aren’t given much in this country.
Meanwhile, if you die to an interesting killer, that lasts and lasts. I just think it’s an interesting commentary on how the human brain works. The death of Kristil Krug is one of the most lasting deaths in my memory, and she died because her husband was a deeply sick man. True Crime always gives the most interesting deaths, and the most interesting killers, well apart from fiction.
But hey, you only get one chance to be young and leave behind a pretty corpse. You’re living in the state capitol, you can make a statement with your death, who could resist? This young lady didn’t want to do the standard thing in the state capitol and marry a football player, wait until she’s old and used up to realize her life didn’t mean anything.
Like I said, the milk of human kindness has gone off. Texas isn’t a place I’d want to be. She found a way out, sometimes the only exit is death. Maybe if we offered OTHER exits to people they wouldn’t take the death exits? Just a THOUGHT. I’ve been trying to find the exit for Oklahoma for 20 years now, and death sure is the easiest and most accessible one, state sponsored too in more cases than they would like to admit.
I mean I read a news story and it was pretty much down to local authority incompetence that this whole thing happened. There was probably at least a CHANCE that mental health being made available to the young lady might have stopped this one, but no, that’s not the Texas way. Death’s door right this way young lady, no need to find any hope. We’ll publicize our incompetence nation wide.
Texas and Oklahoma are similar that way. *spit* Easier to dig a grave than to help people, and that won’t be changing any time soon. Damn this part of the country, not a place to be a human being.
not a place to be a human being in ANY part of this shitty country. in red states, they take away your right to abortion, and social services/safety nets. in blue states, if they want your million dollar home, they just burn it down (ie Palisades). red or blue, we’re fucked either way.
I mean land*. If the rich want the k lol and underneath your home, they’ll just burn it down. And what are you gonna do? Nothing. (Palisades/ LaHaina). I’m sure there were other places burned before we became aware of what the rich were doing.
“Meanwhile, if you die to an interesting killer, that lasts and lasts. I just think it’s an interesting commentary on how the human brain works.”
That’s what’s so sad, especially since I know I suffer from the same morbid sensationalism. I was reading a book on Jack the Ripper and got to the pictures of the corpses and it suddenly dawned on me: These were human beings with lives. And no one knows, or cares, the 1st thing about their lives except that they were victim #1 or victim #5 or whatever. Jack the Ripper is the star of the show, and his method of killing is the plot summary.
Since then I’ve toned down my morbid interest in serial killers and true crime and all that stuff. It just appealed to my sick & innately human desire to prey on death. Fuck that, I got my own death to think about.
I agree that the milk of human kindness has an expiration date. Or to be fair, maybe it can be maintained indefinitely but only under ideal conditions, definitely not under a fucking heat lamp where every day is a new torture.
I wonder how many people kill themselves just because they can sense themselves turning sour. So they want to salvage what innocence they have left by ending it before they turn into the monsters that we all become, just give it time.
There were two young woman who attended the same university. One was pretty, the other plain.
On more than one occasion, I heard people comment on “what a shame” it was that the pretty one lost her sight, while having no such sentiment to the average looking woman.
Why do we seem hardwired to give preference in all things the the attractive and judge everyone else as less worthy?
Is it conditioning through media or is it more innate than that?
It does not speak well of our perception, judgment, or character.
Why does the trans person deserve less love and compassion, or the Jew or Muslim or Hindi or Christian or atheist or the old, the fat, the ugly? Where is the better part of our humanity?
There was one man, once who saw value in all of us. Why can’t we?
