So i go to this school where everyone’s white cept me.
They all come from doctors and lawyers.
Listen to music like Justin Bieber and Britney Spears.
I like soul and Chrisofer Drew.
So today the teacher asked me what we wanted to be.
White boy in the front: I want to be a doctor
White girl in the front: I want to be a therapist.
White boy in the middle: I want to be a pro basketball player.
Finally it’s me.
Me: I want to be a tattoo artist.
Snickers and stares.
Teacher calls my mom. Mom shouts at me.
“Do you think a girl like you could ever do something as dirty as that?”
Silence.
“What’s so wrong about creating art?”

woooow your mom sucks i thought parents were supposed to support you no matter what.I think you should fuck them all and what they think you should just think about yourself and fallow your dream cuz those kids in your lass and your teacher arent gonna be in your adulthood and they dont got a right to critisize you for what you wanna be
haha. yah they all think money, money. and im like fuck this. im moving to LA
your mom is not supportive but i guess she just wants the best for you, in life i mean. but hell if you were born to create art the promise of all the money in the world shouldnt stop you. follow your dreams and reality will follow you.
Tattoos are awesome and getting more and more mainstream. Don’t give up on your dream.
I agree with silent survivor, screw them all and live your dream. Your teacher didn’t have any real right to call your mom, anyway. Don’t give up.
If that’s your dream then chase it we live in a world filled with fake moral and stereotypes so if the whole world says you’re wrong but you know you’re not then FUCK THE WORLD
I think that’s an amazing thing to want to be! Screw everyone else.
Shame on that teacher… In my country if a teacher tells you something like that there finished. Then they would be doing a “dirty job”. I am discusted that a teacher could say such a thing to a student in the middle of class especially that that is an opinion while being a teacher is a job and she has no rights to criticize in such a manner… In my country at least… I don’t know how your county treats such. Such a shame. If you want to be a tattoo artist of-course you can be.. However; If your parents tell you not to, then you shouldn’t as they only want the best for you and being older and more experienced in life then you, you should listen to them if they don’t want you to be a tattoo artist. How long has this been? Don’t let yourself down because of that teacher… If you’r the only girl that is not white that does not mean anything.. I was in a school were I was the only blond but I was still respected because I would not let anyone mess with me unless that person had the right to… You are still young anyway, maybe you will change your mind of what job you want to do in the future anyway…. Don’t worry about that right now…. Keep up in school, keep your grades high just in-case you want to change your job, maybe you want to become more successful then the other students in class? Well not want to but by chance you get a job that is more successful. Your class mates will bow down to you if you do achieve that. Whether being a tattoo artist or not… As long you have proven yourself as a success. Maybe your tattoo artist will be worldwide known? I don’t think a therapist would live a life better then yours. Not even a pro basketball player, or a doctor. What does it matter if your music is different? You know why you appreciate your music and they appreciate your music in a different way. Imagine we all liked the same music in the world? I’d suicide because the world would be so dull, tasteless, clone-like, and boring to me. Most importantly however do listen to your parents…. As they do only want your own good if your mother does not want you to be a tattoo artist… There are so many positions in this world, if you love art your could become a professional artist in any kind of art… Maybe music, maybe painting? As an example lets say you chose painting? If you parents agree, you could start with that right now and paint out your emotions, it will help you and starting from a young age your paintings will get better then starting off in the future. If you want to become a tattoo artist, very well… You know why you want to become that, explain to your mother why and see what she has to say about that? Remember they are more experienced then you and you should follow their advice. Good luck with what ever lies ahead, and may peace be upon you and your family.
