With all the suicidal thoughts, pain from health wise, feeling hopeless, always depress etc I have learned to deal with the challenge I have been given. Instead of trying to take my life away I will try to save those who are thinking of ending their life. Yes its going to be heard but its worth a try and maybe for once I could say I did something, maybe for once at least I could say I’m proud of myself.

People will tell you to stop posting, if you keep posting nice things like this. But please, keep posting sir/maam.
Its not nice thing its just hope and me accepting who I am but thank you I will 🙂
It’s not blatant anti-positivity. It’s the counter to the blatant blanket-positivity generalizations that people so stereotypically cast upon “all suicidals,” as if we were not actually people, or as if it’s “just an attitude problem.” Sometimes it’s an attitude problem. Sometimes it’s the inability to further endure an unacceptably harsh reality. Sometimes it’s the loss of the will to live, through being gradually disintegrated by just trying to live life. Sometimes it’s just people’s values change, and they no longer find anything worth the requirement to endure so much, for so little.
I will say: “if you want to solve a problem, go to the source. If you want to help a person with their problems, you have to understand their problems.”
One of the greatest strengths of this community is that people have come here for whatever reason to to resolve their issues and speak among a group of people who understand what it’s like to stand at the precipice of the abyss … a place where usually no one in their lives and world have been … and when they get here they find camaraderie and understanding … and perhaps knowledge and a reason to stop marching forward off the edge… here many of us take pause to reflect and reexamine if this is what we truly want and why.
And in that process we are not judged by those here at the precipice conducting a similar review of their own reasons … the people here come together to share what they’ve learned with those who have yet not had the guidance to see a more positive path through life. Some find a new resolve to try life with a different perspective and some put the finishing touches and tie up loose ends before taking the final steps into the abyss … and they are not judged either way … because most of us here know that the edge is but only a step away.
Help others to understand what you’ve learned … this is why we’re here … if some chose to suicide … that IS their choice to do so … but don’t take it personal. Their suicide is THEIR choice … not ours … and not our responsibility to stop them. WE can only try to arm them with new information that helps them to have a better understanding on what brought them here and help shape their perspective that we as individuals do NOT control the world and the other 99.9999% of the people in it who all have their own individual agendas that actually does NOT reflect our values, beliefs and by extension our actions.
Mandy, know that you can be proud JUST by taking the time to listen to someone who is hurting … no matter what their final choice is … but know and understand this … to interact with those who’ve arrived here requires genuine and honest interaction … it’s not hard, but it does require taking the time to read and understand what they are actually saying … they’ve heard all the superficial, and passing quips and “pearls of wisdom” from those who will never know what it’s like to be here at the edge of oblivion.
