I just want to know if there is any good in the world. It hurts my heart when I read or hear tragic stories about immigration, indigenous people, minorities, etc., and I just want to know if there are any good, happy books on such topics. I need stories that will make me happier, not pull me further into depression. So if anyone knows the titles for some positive books about other countries, ethnic minorities, or immigrants, please let me know.

You could try the fiction section…
The only story that sorta comes to mind (I saw the movie, didn’t read the book) is “Hotel Rwanda” about a man who sheltered & saved several hundred families from the Rwandan genocide back in 1994. It was barely a drop in the bucket, but the point is that he made a world of difference to the ones he did save. I found it inspiring but disturbing at the same time.
“A sentimental journey through France and Italy” by Sterne it’s a book i’m reading right now and i’m enjoyin a lot. It’s not boring at all, which is rare for a classic. It tells with humour and a bit of melanchony the trip of this guy around Europe, who is so sweet and disarmed it’s impossible not to sympathy with!
