For me personally, I don’t “suppress” those thoughts until I’m about to fall over and it happens quite a lot. I don’t mind the voices and stuff, it’s just the…the…jungle ambience that gets me everytime. Like, I’ll hear a few voices conversing over my choice of suit+tie and then I’ll hear a random Peacock screech and I’ll start making weird faces. The looks people give me are priceless. Living in a urban environment, you’ll note how silly that sounds. The random noises that go on in my head…yeesh.
The only way I can sort of quieten down my mind is to put my headphones on and blast some music. Well, I’ll probably end up being hard of hearing, but it beats hearing a turtle whenever I walk past a random chick.
