Something intense happened last night. While driving on the highway, I nearly hit a girl staring blankly into traffic on the border of the shoulder and my lane. I called the authorities, exited and swung around on the service road. I got out, ruined my new shoes on the muddy embankment :P, and went up to her on the highway. She was crying, distraught, and talking about how a friend just died. I slowly climbed over the guardrail (looking back, I probably shouldn’t have done that, kinda dangerous) and told her I would love to listen to whats going on, but its so noisy. I kept begging her to come to the safe side of the guardrail with me so we can talk, and after what seemed like forever, she finally agreed! 10 min later and the freakin cops still hadn’t showed up. I called back which understandably made her a little upset. Finally showed up and I see them looking into my truck where my dog is! I freak out because I have heard of way too many trigger happy cops blowing away innocent dogs. I ran up on them, (luckily didn’t get shot), and filled them in. She was taken to the hospital affiliated with my medical school. The psych faculty is pretty good there, so hopefully, she gets the help she needs.
I know some people might think I should have left her alone, or that I just delayed the inevitable, but I think I did the right thing. What do you think?

Whilst on tour in Australia Enhland cricketers Matt Prior and Stuart Broad talked down an England fan who was about to jump off a bridge. They were returning from a charity fundraiser set up in memory of Broads step mother who committed suicide after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease. They noticed the guy and helped.
