not sure what sociopathical syndrome it takes for someone to come to a forum like this and try to push people over the edge for fun. but please get rid of him, it’s the last thing this site needs.

I typed up a post last night and it’s been pending for over ten hours. It’s nothing crazy either, just some thoughts I tried to put out there. Of course you get different feedback here, it’s the impersonal and unpredictable Internet. What good would all look-a-like responses do for the popularity of this site?

Note that as an author of a post you can remove comments that you don’t like. I don’t think there is need for banning anyone.

Many of you must not have much experience with internet forums, because it’s a typically expected Strict Rule, that “moderation is not an appropriate topic of discussion.” Discussing moderation earns infractions in most of the forums i’ve encountered. By comparison, this has got to be the most lenient website i’ve ever encountered. We have few rules, and many of them are frequently disregarded… and rarely is anyone ever banned or blocked, without going out of their way to upset other users, or potentially cause legal problems for the owners of the site.
The dude could have dialed it back a few notches, without compromising himself… but he seemed apparently intent to be as blatantly aggressive and distasteful as possible, to as many people as possible.
There is “voicing unpopular opinions,” and then there is trolling and abuse. I have to agree that the user in question not only crossed the line repeatedly, but did so intentionally, with sheer disregard for any potentially detrimental impacts or consequences.
I normally hate to see ANYONE banned… but i have to agree this one was the right call.
I talked about this just last night. Searched for a report option but could not find one. The little fuck wad dredd always have negative things to say. The sad thing is that if he gets banned he will just start operate under a different username. Dredd how does it feel that people who already have many difficult things to deal with hates your gutts so much. you can tell yourself that you don’t care but any living being would. Fuck it man just piss of. nobody likes you here. you are just a sad little man. GO AWAY!!! you are like a virus. get bent.

Gray Shadow, it wasn’t his nationality that resulted in the ban. See clevername’s comment above so I can avoid duplication. The only reason his nationality was mentioned was to clarify who was being banned.

you have no idea how mean dredd is. The things he says doesn’t help people who just really needs to vent or talk their hearts out. He is past annoying. He is just plain mean to everyone. for example, and this is just one. There are many more: a lady posted something and said she has a child. So dredd went and asked her why she “procreated if she knows she has a mental illness”. Do you see where im going with this. The guy has been harassing people for weeks now.
Unfortunately, like many of us, Dredd has some issues to work through. Dredd’s attitude here was hurting the community and it had to be addressed. With a different communication style, maybe Dredd could have positively helped us… or vice versa.
race and nationality are two very different things… neither of which have any relevance in this case.
And, as far as i know, this has only been going on for a few days at most, not “weeks.”

Finally Dredd is gone.
We really have to be sensitive and caring to the people who come to this site to release pent up emotions and seek help. They are at lowest points of their lives and a few negative statements and words can drive these people off the edge.
We dont need people going of the edge when there are people here to support, help, and listen to them. We need to show this is a site where people can feel comfortable and safe to express there inner feelings and pain without fear of discrimination.
