Upper-middle class college student here… Maybe I disagree with you only because my problems are far from financial, but having experimented with superfluous spending – I’ve concluded that money can only provide pleasure to the extent that your desires can be bought. If they can, all the power to you.
You might be surprised to find how few things can’t be “bought.” Some things that can’t be directly bought, are only accessible to those who have the means to buy what can be bought. For many of us, “enough money” is something that no amount of effort can ever “buy.”
But yeah. If you CAN buy everything that can be bought, of what is desired… that leaves a whole lot more time and energy to spend on the rest of the problems… which is an incredible advantage that i’m always surprised by the affluent not realizing they have.
Interesting thought, but I disagree. Sometimes clearly can’t be bought with money.. looks(unless you dig the plastic surgery look), intellectual/physical capabilities, second chances at failed relationships, lives etc. And these things are more often than not the cause of one’s grief – at least from what I’ve seen. What I seek is not monetarily acquired.
If that were true, celebrities would never suicide would they? They’re crazy for doing so? It’s always about money but when you have some, it’s NEVER about money that drives one to end it.
Hey money never made me happy when I was at my happiest I also was at my poorest. When I got my trust fund all I really got from it was fake friends and a gold digger off an ex what tuck me for every thing i had

True, who ever said money can’t buy happiness must have never been broke/poor.
True. If I had the means to buy my favorite sports car and to pay for track time everyday I would put my end off for maybe about a week. 🙂
