I’m 15 years old. I just started cutting. i feel like my life isn’t really worth it anymore. i have contemplated suicide. i even looked up medications that i could overdose on. i almost committed suicide Friday morning. I’m not one of those people who justseeks attention because if you want attention, don’t go about it this way. if anyone understands pain and guilt, that’s me.

The teenage years can be pretty tough. No doubt about it. Don’t lose sight of the fact that, once you hit 18, things can change quite a bit. If school or peers are causing you stress, you might not see them any more. You’ll have your chance to start working, go to college, enter the military, travel, or just go a completely different route. Your best bet for now is to study hard and set yourself up for success.
As for seeking attention, it’s probably a good ideal to speak with someone you trust. Maybe a friend? I’m sure that you’re not the only fifteen-year-old facing challenges. Like I wrote above, the teenage/school-years can be tough. But I wouldn’t give up. It’s not worth it. You have decades ahead of you.
Was interesting for me to see this post today, since 2 years ago today I made that very first, small, shallow cut. I don’t think you should make cutting a habit, it can create hell later on. I won’t lie and say it hasn’t helped me to cope, but there are much healthier and less destructive ways of coping with things. I think you should definitely find someone to talk to, being a teen sucks – trust me I know, and having someone to talk to can be life-saving. Of course, this doesn’t mean a psych, or even an “adult”, look for a close friend, maybe someone online and hundreds of miles away, whatever works for you.
Good luck, and I hope things turn out well for you.
I think the two previous post have given you good advise on finding someone to speak who you trust, you shouldn’t be having suicidal thoughts at your young age when you should be studying for the future. Please don’t consider taking an overdose, it doesn’t really works with modern drugs, it could just make you sick, but I can also cause organ damage, so please don’t.
