Is religion real? if so, which one? i was raised christian, and i still am even after everything that has happened. I believe he was around to save the world. But many religions have key figures. What the heck? what does it all mean? does it even matter to try and figure this stuff out? does heaven exist in any form? Im poor, we dont ask ourselves these kinds of questions, we just try to keep living. I honestly dont want to live anymore (if i cant get my health issues fixed, or find a job), but what is the point of it all? i guess these are questions for someone else, not for me.

I don’t really have a religion I’m spiritual yet interested in all religions and tend to say most are not too bad. They’re a way of life. They can all fail you. Even my spiritual faith has failed me now I’m stuck with no faith. I hope your health improves and you find a job! And I hope my faith returns if not I’ll be in heaven before I’m 40
Thanks for the kind words! they truly mean a great deal. i sometimes think i wont make it to 40 either. im sorry that your faith has left you. i hope you find faith of some kind yet. im more spiritual myself these days, and less about religion.
Religion evolved from superstition and the fact that most people cannot face the fact that we will never live forever in a paradise of our dreams. This is it. Once we die, nothing! It’s actually a coping mechanism in the brain to cope with trauma and the fears of the real world. But it doesn’t mean there’s a god or an afterlife.
I read the bible, I also studied sociology. The God of the bible fits a psychopathic dictator more than an all loving God who wants the best for us. Instead it’s a controlling God that created us for his own selfish purposes. These are all myths of course. Let me give you some examples….
Moses – there is no evidence that Moses even existed. Also Ancient Egypt never owned Jewish slaves. The only slaves that Egypt had were its own people who owed debt. They worked until they payed off that debt. And the 7 plagues…..that would have been historically documented in Egypt, which it never was.
We can all agree that the Adam and Eve story and Noah’s flood is a rediculas story
What about Jesus? No historical documentation of his life in Judea. The people who first wrote about a Jesus figure where people who never met Jesus or was alive during his supposed life.
In saying this, I cannot believe in gods. All religions tell lies and myths like that.
my faith is no longer strong enough to argue with you. i may even agree with you. however, i am poor and lonely with maybe not much time in the world, spiritual stuff is kinda all i have. if i had money, i would probably believe just as you do. maybe. but not God or higher power or being at all? I just dont know about that…
I’m sorry your struggling so much. I wish there was a god to be honest but so far the more I searched the less evidence I found for one. But despite my atheism, what you believe is up to you.
Thanks, man! i just am trying to live for my girlfriend and her son right now. Can u believe there once was a time when i could have debated for hours on this topic? how fast things change sometimes…i know obsess over other things…lol
Oh yeah. I love to have a debate on pretty much any topic lol. I changed a lot too. I use to be Christian because I overestimated the “wisdom” of the collective majority. I thought that since everyone I grew up with was Christian, and seemingly intelligent, and all of the things in the bible where already proven to be true. I didn’t start questioning things until around 18. It was scarey for me at the time to question it. But as I went though my stages of grief I reach…..acceptance. I was a miserable Christian, now I’m a miserable atheist. My theology changed and my state of mind stated the same.
No religion is not real, but god is, do not be religious be spiritual, god does not want you to be religious it wont help,he wants you to accept him and accept yourself as you are,and yes there is heaven. And you can watch on truth me free guy he explains that stuff, just write it in google.
“That all the things in the bible were proven to be right”
Sorry that was meant for the person above you.
Religion is a useful source of wisdom and information, this goes for all mainstream religions, discounting jedi i’m afraid. It is of course Mostly fiction, metaphor is used heavily. Take for instant Moses and his parting of the red seas, ah hem, metaphor for arousing the female sex organs perhaps? Much more complex than that but, this will do for now.
Moses, his name has meaning if you dare to stick your neck out there and assign it. “Os” in latin is mouth, the M could relate to both the superior oblique muscles of your eyes along with those facial muscles innervated by use of those oblique muscles, namely the procerus and frontalis. if you hold these muscles and breathe (lets assume the “re” in religion spelt backwards and pronounced phonetically to be air) then you will find that you are holding a posture and the tonus of musculature associated with forced inhalation. “Let my people go” , since i am making the assumption that this is metaphor and i’ve smoked a great deal of cannabis in my time on this earth, lets consider this word go? Perhaps another anatomy reference? Could it relate to the zyGOmaticus muscles which connect the mouth “OS” to the large nerve cluster which supplies innervation to the muscles of your ears and jaw?
And finally “zygomaticus”, could there be a connection with this word and the bible book “leviticus”? I wonder.
God, God in Latin is “DEUS”, anagram of this word is used, “de” in latin means out, “out” spelt phonetically would be owt, two backwards. The word “deus” can be found in the nomenclature for muscles located in your throat which elevate and depress your “adams apple”, Omohydeus, and Glenohydeus, although naming conventions for these muscles have been changed in recent years across many sources, the latin DEUS being changed for OID. I think that’s full circle, ah the taste of forbidden fruit in the morning, just before NOON.
God exists for people to have faith, meaning and hope. It’s literally that simple. There is no good reason to believe him in, and there is no logical reason to believe him in either. He is a hope mechanism and people want to believe that death isn’t the end.
The end is the end, I am indifferent to nothing.
God is a good example or a terrible exploit. Depending upon which side of belief you are on.
I am a clever primate, a shit flinging monkey, god is the man who put me in a zoo.
The muslim god is allah, allah is a muscle located in your pelvis and ala is latin for wings, the muscle responsible for retracting the wings of a bird in flight are called supracoracoiDEUS, again the latin GOD. There is a facial muscle in human anatomy named ALAr nasalis, these raise the upper lip towards the nostrils during inhalation and through the abdominals (which act as postural support to allow recruitment of and are in fact antagonist to )innervate the lattisimus dorsi or lats, an important respiratory and postural muscle located in your back. These are the wings you see on heavens angels…
Some other words with ALA inhALAtion, exhALAtion, AmygdALA (“The amygdalae (singular: amygdala; /??m??d?l?/; also corpus amygdaloideum; Latin, from Greek ????????, amygdal?, ‘almond’, ‘tonsil'[1]), listed in Gray’s Anatomy as the nucleus amygdalæ, are two almond-shaped groups of nuclei located deep and medially within the temporal lobes of the brain in complex vertebrates, including humans.[2] Shown in research to perform a primary role in the processing of memory, decision-making, and emotional reactions, the amygdalae are considered part of the limbic system.[3] ”
Science is the new god, and knowledge is his sEVEN days of creation.
The lats can be recruited with the zygomaticus muscles combined with the inferior oblique muscles of the eyes and the auricularis superior of the ears, antagonist to the lattisimus would then be the debressor angular oris which innervates the external obliques.
Or go- WING the other way, by recruitment of the superior oblique muscle of the eyes and then the depressor angular oris becomes the source of innervation for the lats.
life is what you make it. religion is cuntish. and spirituality is equally as annoying. music is release.
I think it brings responsibility in a way. I don’t think you live once, so religion is a way to better yourself. may take a lot of lifetimes to make it to the promised land
