My parents have always told me to be careful of the internet. That that’s where people steal things from you and commit fraud against you. And in a sense they’re right, but the internet is a two sided coin and they’re looking at the wrong side. I’ve known the people in my school for 12 years and I’ve known the people on Skype for less than 12 months and I trust my Skype friends more. Simply for the fact that I’ve seen people at their best and worst and my Skype friends handled it better. They didn’t run and hide. They cheered the person up. I still haven’t found that in my school and I found that online by playing a game. I found more help here when I was suicidal and couldn’t very well explain it than when I was at a counselors office. True, the internet can be a dangerous place. But, once you look at the other side of that coin, it can be wonderfully amazing.

I totally agree. The internet is a wonderful thing, a lifeline for so many people. It can be dangerous but everything is dangerous in its own way. Yay for the internet! 🙂
You’re sort of right, but it does depend on people. On the internet you’re going to find good and bad people, same in real life, but if you were lucky to find good people on the internet, that’s great.
Not that it’s that related (well…sort of, due to the scam part) but i’ve been buying stuff for years on the internet… and guess what, the only time i’ve really gotten scammed by an online buy, i mean blatantly and with no response from the other end, was by a store that is 6 hours from my home, lol. So i’m with you in the “trust more on the internet people than the ones around me” (i mean, technically it was online too but since it was my own country it qualifies as “here” to me).

What game do you play?
I played Dota 2 for almost 3000 hours and made some friends there, it was fun, and good.
But now my actual PC doesn’t have enough power to run it, so I play nothing…
I normally play minecraft. But lately I’ve gotten out of that and I’ve noticed since I have I’ve become more aggressive. Maybe I need it as an outlet 🙂 Oh well. At the current moment I play Hearthstone. Still fun.
