Well, they do pay well.. I gave it a shot. Turns out I’m not really their material. It’s cool seeing how articles come together though, once you join you see everyone’s work in progress. Then see how the editors gang rape it for display day. Definitely worth the experience.
I remember when I was a teenager with illusions of adequacy, I went through a time when I wanted to be a writer. I loved writing. Loved poetry. And my sense of humor was a little, shall we say, warped.
I wrote humor stuff and poetry and short stories and all kinds of stuff.
Let’s just call them “word casseroles”.
I got rejected on just about everything.
For awhile I saved the rejection slips, but gave up after it got so depressingly obvious that nobody wanted my stuff.
There was a newspaper that printed some of the “serious” poetry, but that was it.
A few decades later, and here I am writing on a suicide site.
Life has a weird sense of humor.
I’m hoping to publish all my shitty poetry in a book. Book baby.com has great rates for self publishing. Not that anyone wants to read it. I was published in a book called “Beyond The Sea” a couple years ago. But, meh…
His sense of knowledge disturbs me. As in, how can a human being know so little, lol. I know that’s the joke, but it’s not that far from what most kids know nowadays… lol. It also reminds me of zoolander’s way of thinking as in “what if there was something to life than being really really ridiculously good looking?”… heck, he even uses a similar way of speaking, haha.

LOL!
That’s why my life has gone to hell lately… I’ve been forgetting to stare directly into the sun for three minutes per day.
Yeah HDS brought up cracked. This series literally taught me almost everything about the science.
I used to read Madd and Cracked magazines when I was younger. I had a huge stack of them by my bed growing up.
I had a few. I remember MadTv was OK… have you ever tried writing for cracked?
No I haven’t. Are you implying I should write for Cracked?

LOL. That’s spot on.
Watching the parody and then the original made me laugh so hard, the original is almost more funny lol.
Thanks for the post, Alan! I can’t stop laughing… and these days, I need to laugh more. Thank you SO much. This helps me to start my day.
