Ug not know. Ug live America for more years than fingers and toes, know how open beer can and club fish with stick. Also have monster truck, ungh. That me name for it. Ungh.
Are Americans evolved. Hmm. Watch an episode of Big Brother, a popular TV show here, and decide for yourself. I know animals more highly evolved than americans.
Look at the bad hair freak show who we elected president. Look at our police force, busy shooting and killing our citizens. Examine our national debt – in the time it’s taken you to read this, it’s increased by ten thousand dollars. Watch our television shows, walk our streets, see how we worship big muscles and big breasts and fancy cars, and value entertainment in every nook and cranny of our lives. We need toys in america, and the world is here to serve us. We are founded under the principles of Christianity and sing “god bless the u.s.a.” as we lie, cheat and steal from any and everyone we can. We are pathetic, but much too self absorbed to see our patheticness. We think our shit doesn’t stink, while the rest of the world looks at us, some in envy, some shaking their heads in sadness, and our gradual slide into depravity continues. Watch the average news broadcast from any big American city – crime, murder, theft, anger, hostility, death, injury, and by god, it’s all on video. And we wonder why we can’t sleep, function, or find happiness. We are mindless monkeys chasing fun and happiness at any cost, oblivious to the futility of our asinine efforts. We are a pathetic mess. We are not evolved. Not one bit. We will destroy ourselves, and our ashes will be covered by a fresh layer of life, upon which hopefully true evolution may begin. God damn the u.s.a.
We are our own end game. How much longer – 100, 200, 300, 1000 years – can we continue to live this way, taxing the natural resources of our planet and poisoning the air we breathe, the water we drink, the soil that bears our food, until we simply implode? Granted, we are making strides – “evolving” – but will it ever reach a point where the tipping point is reached and we finally transcend our own special vanity and choose a lifestyle that is compassionate and docile? I wish I knew. I believe it is impossible. And you are absolutely correct, this is not limited to the usa, it is a characteristic of Homo sapiens. We exist through destruction, and will willingly turn our anger against any who oppose us, while destroying the fragile ecosystem that gives us our life, in order to maintain our dominance at the top of the food chain. Much the same way as the animal kingdom. Are we that different from the animals? Hmmm. Arts, music, medicine, these things and others differentiate us from dogs and pigs and cattle, but dogs, pigs and cattle do not destroy their environment as they live. We do. We are evolved, there is no question, but is that evolution moving us in a positive direction that will allow us to sustain ourselves and our environment, or will we simply evolve ourselves to death?
Roger Waters sings it wonderfully in “Amused to Death”. The alien anthropologists will examine our remains years from now, and conclude that ” this species has amused itself to death.”
And now, back to my seedless watermelon. God, I love this stuff, especially in the summer.
There’s like 360,000,000+ Americans. There are plenty of red-necks, “evolved” people, and every sub-set in between.
If you wanna find “quality” friends you’re gonna have to wade through a swamp of dickheads first. I suspect this is true in every country on the planet.
Yeah truth is that every single human being is selfish. That s how we evolved in order to survive. Some of us are psychopaths who don’t even understand or feel the concept of another person’s suffering. Some other will devote their life into helping others. and a vast majority will care but only if they can have somehow get something back, in the most cute and naive way: gratitude , love, respect in other ways the assurance that someday we will help them in return, reimburse them somehow , they’re kind of investing their kindness for future plans hoping it will be profitable. The problem when you ve depression is that you can’t look for normal people because as I said they won’t necessarily get anything back from you if they agree to help or simply be a friend. You need to find this 1% of people ready to help you, to accept your fears and your sadness , and who only look for satisfaction through your getting better. I believe that in every country there are a bunch of real bastards, a majority of nothing to say sheep but also some extraordinary people to meet and although it seems almost impossible to meet them each time you will try you ll increase then probability to find the right person
I did find a depression dating site a while back. Think it was a pay site though. Thought that seemed like a good idea. Profile pics I saw on home page were of smiling people……hmm.
I’d set one up if I knew how to do it.
As an American, I can unequivocally say: hell no. This is the country that elected Donald Trump. If you look at the competition, it could be forgiven; the choice sucked. However, many people LOVE THIS GUY. We are, as a country, judgemental, disrespectful, self-serving fools who believe the crap Fox News shovels at them. (All news media here sucks.) Universal healthcare is a socialist idea and if you don’t like it, move to Europe. Personally, the Netherlands sounds like a really cool place; do they take American refugees? 😉

Powerful comment. This western disease is not limited to the usa – it’s spread/ing. What’s the end game?
