Don’t you hate when people pull the other-people-have-suffered-more-and-had-a-positive-takeaway crap? Like don’t compare people’s suffering and their takeaways like it’s a fucking scale!
I do hate when people pull the other-people-have-suffered-more-and-had-a-positive-takeaway crap. It always sounds to me like someone is trying say they are better than those of us who don’t rise above the ashes in a spectacular fashion, etc. Oh and the telling is always anecdotal so I am always left wondering how many people never really escape the bondage of suffering for every one person who goes on to do great things.
Every nervous system is different, every instance of suffering is as unique as the one who experiences it.
Besides some might think I rose above it all but that would be going by appearances only.
Right exactly!!! And it’s amazing if people suffer and rise from it but I don’t think people that can’t-especially if they can’t because of a physical problem in their brain!-are weak or less. One of my major problems is when people say suicide is selfish. Like it’s not selfish, it’s a reaction to pain and it’s tragic! I guess you have to be there to get it huh?
The “suicide is selfish” thing is a half truth which only serves to wound the hearer while lulling the speaker into thinking they know all they need to know about the subject.
I never say that to others in the same boat as me. It’s all relative. Also, all this crap for me is due to chemical imbalances that I have to treat with meds to stay “normal”. So far I haven’t made a suicide attempt in almost 3 years, but it’s always in the back of my mind for no reason at all. I even thought of carbon monoxide poisoning from a power generator in my garage due to hurricane Irma knocking out power in a couple days, but I’m pretty sure I won’t do it.

You only say that because you haven’t experienced exactly 298oz of psychic pain yet. Just wait, you’ll see.
Once your get your 298oz of psychic pain you will become a famous overcomer featured on the evening news for three minutes!
My dream is to be featured on the front of a box of Life! cereal. <3

Yeah exactly it hurts us. And yeah I think of suicide even on “good” days-hell, especially on “good” days!
