That’s how I feel. But if something is wrong with my brain how do I know that my view of life and the world is accurate. That’s where it gets tricky. Can I explain my wanting to catch the bus in a logical way that others would understand or am I just a crazy person in everyone’s eyes? That’s the hard part.
That’s the funny bit; everyone’s brain is fundamentally warped with bias and perspective. The difference is that ours makes us turn against ourselves, everyone else turns on each other, or finds other ways to deal with the essential problems of the world.
I don’t think I realized how messed up the world was until I got a close look at the world of academic research and how almost no one reads the research behind articles they quote. It’s a dismissive attitude towards “truth” that totally undermines my ability to trust people as accurate sources.
The thing though is that I have touch points, people I can talk to and find out what they see, and average them together to find “objective reality”, and I can read research and maybe get a chance at what is true.
