Way back when, when I was young, people used to read. Not forum posts, not news headlines. This thing called books. Maybe some can remember them.
Now I had a pretty shitty childhood. But I loved reading. I read all kinds. It opens the mind, it creates ideas. It makes shitty reality go away for a while so you have time to recover.
It just seems to me that so many young people these days suffer from depression and suicidal thoughts. It is a result of modern society. I just wonder if a bit of old-fashioned reading won’t make things more manageable.
If anyone takes the time to read this I really do appreciate it.
Well I feel as if the best place to start is as a child in my childhood I was a last born child having two brothers older than I my oldest being fathers one and only care and the second my mothers I wouldn’t say I was abused by them or ignored but when I tell other people about what happened with me they seem to think I was it was just stuff like my brothers do something they don’t receive punishment and I get the world thrown upon me and such and […]
Got a new antidepressant. Trazodone, starting with 50 mg = one pill.
Feel like reading a book? Forget about it, you’re tired as hell.
Feel like going to sleep? Forget about it, you’ll end up gazing at the ceiling.
Feel like having sex? Forget about it. You can’t come.
Plus migraines, headaches (which are actually mild migraines, I think), I have the need to piss too many times a day. And dizziness, fucking dizziness.
So yeah, professor, I think I am getting well. That’s fucking helping.
Note: I wrote the above out of pure rage and I know that the professor is not to blame. It also may […]
I survived a rather serious attempt on my own life almost exactly 15 years ago. To be honest, there have been a lot of times since that I have felt truly sorry I failed. Unfortunately, it seems like this is more and more the case.
At any rate, I thought I would try to participate in this community a bit. If you are reading this, you are already probably aware that “normal” people don’t understand what this is like. Indeed, they freak out. Maybe there will be […]
Hi everyone, so I’ve been reading posts for weeks now and finally decided to register. I’ve been depressed for years now. I’ve been hospitalized at least 6 times in the last year. My last hospitalization I took over 100 Tylenol and was close to death. Now I am suicidal again and have been wanting to kill myself for weeks. I see my psychiatrist every week now and she has been so close to admitting to the hospital a couple times. Some of my fam and friends say I should listen to my Dr. and go to the hospital but I’ve been so many times and […]
she told me to buy a notepad. a special one. i bought one that’s green because that’s my favorite color. then she told me to make a list of things that make me feel good, for times i can’t think straight and all i can think about is killing myself. i started writing.
listening to music.
reading a book.
writing.
smoking (cigarettes).
having sex.
taking the dog for a walk.
she told me to add new things every time i come up with ones. it does help sometimes. sometimes not. sometimes i’m so depressed i forget i have this notepad. it’s taking all of me.
anyway, thought […]
Finally! I did it late last afternoon. I made everything ready, and then set me Down in my sofa/ couch and drank 4 beer. I found some good music on my stereo and did it! But… I woke up on the floor. The homemade fabric “Rope” i had made was broken. I remember when i was “Gone” hearing a lot of noise and wery fast loud breathing sounds. Really scary. I don’t know how long i was gone. When i woke up i did’nt knew WHO i was or WHERE i was for like 10 seconds. It was wery unrealistic. Now my throat Hurts when i swallow, […]
Hi again all you humans. Its been awil since I last posted. But today I randomly felt like I should… well what ive decided on saying is this… this is my messege of hope to every one out there. Don give up. Sometimes things might take awil to get better or change. They might never change. But we have to keep fighting. Oblivion is inevitable people. Early or late it happens… we cant change that… there are many reasons a person could feel these ways. We feel… lose of a loved one. Child hood abuse. bullies. Hating yourself. Negetivity. Etc. Milions of reasons. I might […]
Hi, I am new to this site. Well, I have never posted and have rarely commented on anything but I have been around reading for several years. I come to this site to read and have always found much comfort in finding people of similar circumstances and issues. I thought that maybe at long last I would share my story and see what happens. Kind of scary to put it out there I guess but I am going to do so anyway. It may be rather long as I am a writer so I do apologize in advance but would be most grateful if someone […]
Hi…
just like everybody else on this site.. I was looking for easy ways to kill myself.
Reading the stories and all the comments…makes me feel less alone when it comes to suicide. I had a few attempted suicides that didn’t work, clearly.
But that feeling of depression comes and goes and most times it feels like it just needs to end.
I’m in my 20?s and thought this would never happen to me. Just a day ago I was living on cloud 9, I had it all; an amazing boyfriend and devoting best friend. But my insecurity and past issues caught up with me.. now I have […]
when i first came here on this site i had a feeling, that most of persons here consider suicide as something right to do, the only thing to do. The only question was, how to do it. I was terrified. My brother commited suicide and thats why i came here in the first place. I wanted to know, how his minde worked, why he did it, by reading posts of other suicidal people. I thought it would help me with handling his death, but it made it worse,so it took a lot of courage to click on this page again today. But now I am […]
I didn’t do it, I never will hopefully.
While I do think that suicide should be a human right, I can safely say that unless I was unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with some
sort of horrible disease I don’t think I will ever kill myself.
🙂
Sorry for wasting the time of anyone who read the original post.
Peace and Love to you all.
🙂
I wish I was a Blonde, that way I’d have something to match my stupidity down to a tee. I feel that people wouldn’t expect as much from me if they saw I was Blonde. I also wish I was a trust fund baby who didn’t need to work a day in her life. I wouldn’t mind taking shit for it, because I’d be too rich to care. People say I can be pretty smart, but I don’t see it. My grammar sucks; I don’t know a thing about it, honestly. I just repeat what I see from reading. And about reading, it takes me […]
So I ended up here because I thought I might meet people who think and feel like me.
Every single post makes me feel as if it was mine. But the thing is that here or in real life I’m not able to confront my fears of being rejected and meet new people.
So I thought maybe if I stated my centers of interests I might meet someone who share them.
1. I’m a BIG HUGE fan of Ken Follett.
2. I’m a pianist and I love music above everything else (not only classical but also rock and alternative, my favourite band being Coldplay)
3. I love reading and building […]
I would consider myself to be an intelligent person. I’ve always sought to understand how and why things are and gravitated towards reading challenging books at a young age. In Middle School I was reading books like The Count of Monte Cristo and Watership Down. By Highschool I was obsessed with authors like Alan Moore, Ray Bradbury, George Owell and Auldous Huxley. Now I’ve been clinging to Ayn Rand like she’s my own mother. It’s because of these people and the books they wrote that I’ve been instilled with a deep sense of morality and individualism. They kept me going long after I couldn’t and […]
I woke up this morning not long ago and decided to head to SP to see today’s posts. I noticed I had a fair amount of responses to my post last night. As I was reading them, a couple of users were talking about a topic that made me stop dead in my tracks and literally say ‘wow’. I feel everyone should take a look at this and give me there thoughts, because I really wish I had the answers.
” I’ve noticed one thing…a whole lot of awareness. Too much, I think. And intelligence. And thoughtfulness. A lot of very smart, sad, interesting, hyper-aware people. […]
I would like to share with you all a moment in my life where I felt the value of living.
I am a big fan of comic books. When I was younger I would consume manga (Japanese comics) which led to my later love in life of American graphic novels and great American literature in general. My favorite graphic novelist is Alan Moore. If you’ve never heard of him I’m sure you’ve heard of some of his works. He’s the mind behind the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, V for Vendetta, From Hell, Lost Girls, the Killing Joke, and Watchmen. He’s a wonderful man […]
I can’t jump to conclusions without knowing for sure…. but I have a strong feeling my good friend on here has passed, or is in serious trouble. She rarely if ever commented on here, but she and I are close, so if you are reading this, you know who you are, and your last email was pretty distressing given I know your situation. If you have passed, I wish you peace in heaven.
Since Afternoon, been reading every single story which has been posted here in the last 5 days, resisted the urge to reply everytime. What moral authority did I have anyway, since I was too one of those who’d go to any limits to get rid of the pain. But we choose that only when we are alone, not when someone tells us that they do care. Which is what made me feel better, irrespective of them being total strangers, who haven’t invested shit in you, they still hear you out, offer advice to cope up with whatever you’re suffering from, keeping aside their own painful […]
