So I’m making my final plans, working on letters and I wonder… What if it’s just as bad after? I’ve pretty much stopped believing in God because why would we all be in so much pain amd suffering while He just stands by and watches? But what if there is some sort of afterlife or heaven or some other shit? Is it going to be any different than it is now? Is it going to suck any less? Or am I going to hate each day more and more and have to committ suicide from that world too??
I’m just curious what peoples thoughts are….

I’ve wondered that too. I’ve decided that hell can’t be much worse than living in my own head, except then there is no chance of improvment EVER. So I figure, even if the chance is super small that it’ll improve here, it’ll be better than being like this forever, and maybe I will wait to die.
Hey. If you google “near death experience” you can read tons of testimonials from people who died but came back. It’s pretty interesting, it’ll definitely make you think. Is there really any sort of afterlife? I dunno, depends on who you ask. The majority of the people who “came back” seem to believe there is.
No. Don’t google NDE if you’re looking for what it’s gunna be like. Most NDE’s can be attributed to DMT, or Dimethyltryptamine, which is probably the strongest hallucinogen on the planet. It’s found in small amounts naturally in the brain and at the time of death, DMT is released.
@onelastsunset- I hadn’t heard of that before. Thanks for the info. I’m hoping there is nothing after because I couldn’t handle it.
Huh. That’s interesting, thanks. I wonder why the brain is programmed to release a powerful hallucinogenic at the time of death? Are we meant to be under the influence at such a critical transit point? Or maybe we live our lives “under the influence” and realize “reality” at the time of death. Or after.
Don’t worry. I’m incredibly confident in saying..no there’s nothing. There won;t even be a you to have to deal with anything. No conciseness, no nothing.
OK. But if you’ve never died before, how can you say with certainty what happens? It’s the great unknown. Not trying to preach here, just saying that inexperience in the subject doesn’t make one an expert.
Nobody can really know for sure what lies on the ‘other side’. If there’s even an ‘afterlife’ or a ‘void’. Remember when you were still in your mother’s womb? No of course you can’t. Can you recall a time when you didn’t exist? Of course not. So all this, this Life can be based upon Consciousness. What if this existence is made up of a preconceived imagination? Maybe we’re all under some kind of delirious daydream where we’re aware of our actions, behaviour, everything around us. Awareness. When we die we may continue our pattern of awareness or perhaps we regain another sense we’ve subconsciously suppressed from the moment we entered the state of Awareness. The Loss of Awareness.
Heh, I’m not sure myself. Anyways that’s just my own train of thoughts. Don’t let it run you over. Choo-choo! xP Or jump! Maybe you’ll find that which you seek at the moment of death and you’ll soar above the misconceptions of the parallel universe of Existence and Non Existence.
I can’t say with 100% certainty. But there’s not the slightest ounce of proof for any sort of afterlife and plenty to say that when the your heart stops and the brain dies, that’s it. Nada. zilch. All we are is many organs, nerves, carbon and countless other biological materials put together. We only have a consciousness because of the brain receiving input and sorting it into a tangible world we can understand. Once the plug is pulled, it all goes.
I truly believe that religion/God/Gods are one of the worst things to happen to humanity. I don’t mean to be mean, but if you think there’s some magic place in the sky full of happiness and angels, you’re still holding onto the teddy bear of comfort so you don’t have to face the reality of death. On the other side, if you kill yourself, according to religion, you’re going straight to hell for eternity to suffer. I believe with all my heart that none of it exists, like I said, religion is a comfort blanket for people scared of the other side. It’s possible we are re incarnated but it’s just as likely we aren’t.
Don’t be scared of death. It’s coming for every one of us and the best you can hope is to prolong it. Of course I’m being slightly hypocritical as I’m pretty damn scared myself, but only because I can’t imagine not existing. Not because of anything with a God or Devil or any of that complete bullshit.
