Hello, I’m a 21 year old male who has been struggling to find a reason to live. I’ve thought about suicide quite a few times but deep down, I know I am not capable of it. Instead, I suffer through deep depression, which is always sparked by the simple question of ‘Why?’ I know this answer is unique to every individual, but I was wondering, as an individual yourself, what is your reason to live?

The question of “Why?” is ALWAYS answered with “Why NOT?” You can write books trying to answer the “Why?’ question – but nothing satisfies … except sex – which always satisfies 😉
Other than that – my only compelling reason to live is the commitment I made to my dogs :/
Why go on? An irrational optimism that someday life will be fulfilling. That’s my reason, at least.
You forced me to think long and hard on that question for a solid 10 minutes. Thanks a bunch.
Exactly, “why not” live? There are always two sides to a philosophical coin, but it takes the experienced, nuanced, and wise mind to see that.
I have a question for you. In the face of adversity and challenges, which are a given for humanity throughout all millennia, past, present & future, do you think anything can or would have been achieved by taking the easy road?
Life is not about the challenges we face, these are a given, rather it is about how we face and tackle them.
Learn to think what you can do and start….
Intelligence can be used for negativity or positivity (look around you) ~ however the choice you make is your choice alone. Make it a wise choice.
