I work for the federal government, and I am able to do my job just fine. I function at work. I am completely dysfunctional in the rest of my life, but I can do my job.
So this week I had to fill out a “credentialing renewal form” or something like that. One of the questions was if I had been hospitalized in the past 5 years and why. Why the hell does it matter that I was hospitalized for being suicidal? And how is that going to make me a threat to national security? As long as I do my job, why does it matter if I want to go home after work and kill myself?

Been there.
That is because the government thinks they are covering all possible risks with that assessment.
When in actuality suicidal people are the ones least likely to harm another.
Some dunderhead probably made one of those murder suicide threats and now they have to take it seriously.
Lie, say no.
Ah, but if even if you say no, they might check your background. Idk though. I don’t really know much about the government. Only 16 after all. 🙂
