Dear Ones,
I, too, have felt suicidal, but I have also found hope of change. Having found it, I would like to pass it on for whatever help it may be. This is the first offering.
One of the difficulties is the lack of insight into why the nightmares come. Why? Others seem to get on ok, even thrive, but not me. I can not cope. How, if it is possible, can I come to a new perspective? If the “how†can be answered, I was very certain the why will also be resolved. A Course in Miracles has shown me how.
I was drawn to A Course in Miracles. The Course uses Christian theology to teach the perennial wisdom that is a part of all faiths, both religious and secular. It teaches this single message. Though you believe you are guilty, worthless, and full of sin, you are the Love of God Himself.
The Course includes a text, workbook and a teacher’s manual. These are available free online and in hard copy from bookstores. If this sounds interesting, you can check it out here: https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/A_Course_in_Miracles
A couple of notes:
1.If what the Course says is true, it will work by doing what it says. It will not require your faith. It will work, because it is true.
2. This is not an invitation to debate scoffers. It is clear that they simply must find another way. The Course is “A Course in Miracles†and does not claim to be “The†one and only Course.
3. This does not mean that other treatment modalities can simply be discontinued. They may fall away or they may not. The important thing is that there is a still, small that speaks of peace, beyond the shrieking voices that call for harm and death. It is to this voice that all the work is geared.
4. Religious and many ethical or philosophical beliefs have, at their highest level a desire to help others. In that sense they can be effective, if properly applied. Their proper application is internal and at the deepest level of the psyche. Yes, there are cultural and social manifestations, many of which are helpful. But unless they can address the “interior decorating†of the homes we have built, the mood will not change.
5. There will be times when fear seems unsurmountable. These will pass. We choose now not to act on them, but to turn to our Creator and ask that, if He be Love, let that Love be manifest. If He be Love, let the questions be answered. If He be Love, let us know Him again.
6. There is a tendency to obsess on one’s story. This simply re-states the problem and demands an answer on its terms. The answer transcends the story. Thus, we learn that our problems lie in pride of placing the problem outside the one answer that would provide release. Now, we would be humble in accepting the answer as it is and where it is. This is the Holy Instant.
Stay in touch.
