“Stop setting yourself on fire for someone who stays to watch you burn.”
This quote really made me think today. I have realised that I need to set myself free, I need to learn to leave people that hurt me in the past and move on. And that’s exactly what I’m doing and it feels great. I just wanted to say, if someone is setting you on fire don’t just sit there whilst they watch you burn, don’t give them that pleasure. Stand up, keep walking and fight for what you believe in. Leave that person in the past, they’re not worth it. I really believe that I’m going to find something way better, I really do. Don’t ever give up on hope, because hope never gave up on you.

Awesome. Like truly, awesome.
I commented on your other post, which I think may also be related to this one, and am glad you’ve decided to take this approach with dealing with in general and perhaps even your boyfriend. I’m with you, I do believe you will find much better out there in the world, among the countless scumbags and deadbeats, you’ll find your man. And like you said: you’ve just gotta have hope.
Thank you for this, and take care.
If someone sets me ablaze to watch me burn, i’ll just tackle them and hold on until they burn with me. Once you’re burnt, there’s no “moving on,” and if they had no justifiable reason to do so, there’s no forgiving.
Also: hope can’t “give up on” anyone; it’s not sentient, it’s not conscious, it’s not aware. Hope is a thing that comes from inside people’s minds. When the conditions of your circumstances no longer produce the stimulus for your mind to produce hope, hope goes away, and you’re left hopeless, with whatever remains.
Sometimes, fighting for what you believe-in, doesn’t work, and only makes you realize your beliefs were incorrect, which means you have to let them go, which leaves you with nothing to fight for, and no reason to fight.
I believe… if someone sets me on fire, THEY should burn; if not instead of, then along with me. If that end is within my means to manifest, it will be done.
