The feeling of failing a suicide attempt is excruciating because you feel worthless for not being able to kill yourself, which only pushes you to want to attempt again. Each time you fail, your need to die only grows and grows, and it feels like torture.

If you fail at killing yourself, you often get assistance that you might not have asked for but you wouldn’t have otherwise received. Sometimes the assistance is helpful… Sometimes not so much. There have been failed suicide attempts in which the person had an opportunity to go a new direction in life… Likewise, there have been suicide attempts that resulted in subsequent attempts. I guess it boils down to the individual, circumstances, etc.
Well, for what’s it worth I think succeeding is immeasurably, irreversibly worse.
