Sometimes I’m rather nihilistic and say that there is no real meaning, except the one that is in our genetics: to continue the human race. And sure, for the overall human race, that works.
But I think we each have our own meaning, the one that we make. Friends, family, food, money. It all boils down to finding happiness. That’s our personal meaning.
Human beings have caused so much pain and destruction. If they became eternal it’s my worst nightmare. The happiest thoughts I’ve ever had is human extinction. There is no meaning to humanity other than possibly some god-creator trying to keep himself entertained or trying to obtain worshippers. If a race is ever going to become eternal, I can only pray its something altogether different and more wonderful than humanity can ever become.

Human life, and existence entirely, posses no meaning. I am not talking out of pessimism, just out of logic.
Well, you just asked a question, and that question has meaning. So sure, why not?
Many people seem to find comfort in eternity, but the word terrifies me.
