Life is shit. We all know it. And painful. I don’t recommend killing yourself because it messes up anyone close to you. My wife killed herself nearly 3 years ago and I am still dealing with the trauma. What I recommend is not having children.
The cathars of 10th 11th and 12th century languedoc believed that conception was the greatest of all sins. I agree. If life is shit we should refuse to replicate ourselves.
The best way to give life the proverbial finger, is to see it through to its bitter natural end, and all the while refuse to give it what it really wants from you (the next generation). Live to save others from the grief of your undue death, but while living don’t burden a new soul with the pain of existence.
Ps I practise what I preach. Months after my wife killed herself I got a vasectomy (and we never had any children). So I shall remain childless. Yet I ll wring everything out of life that I can get… Sex drugs travel money whatever comes… I ll take what I can get from life…without ever investing back into it.
And that is how you give the ***** the bird.

Hmm. I kinda agree about kids. It’s a long and sorry story that is way too sensitive to tell, but I didn’t choose to have a kid, but had one anyway. Nature makes it far too easy. You sound fairly bitter (can’t judge you for that). And I’m sorry for the loss of your wife. Wish you the best, and glad you’re not gonna top yourself. You’re right it’s best to spare our loved ones if we possibly can.
Whenever my mother scold me, she always cursed me that someday I will get a wayward child like myself. I love myself much enough to not let another me living in pain.
We’re all in a death factory here, how anyone could bring a new life into this “factory” is beyond my comprehension. It’s what humans do best. Greed + selfishness + blindness and denial of reality = produce a child who, like the rest of us, will be spit out, processed, and butchered. We’re all meat.
Heh, the only way to defeat the factory is to overpopulate it with robust and intelligent offspring. If we just refuse to reproduce, we’ll only doom the others to remain meat.
Still, i don’t entirely disagree with your position on the matter. Suffering shouldn’t be arbitrary, and needs to produce a worthwhile result. I think we just haven’t been able to tip the scale back into our favor yet, and not sure we ever will.
