For me, the expression “you are your own worst enemy” holds a lot of truth. It’s a painful reality that much of what limits me in my life is my own feelings of unworthiness and self-hatred.
But where do these feelings come from? How do they influence us? And how can we push past them to live a life free of the harsh attitudes of our inner critic? I will never know.

This is a question I have been asking myself today. I don’t feel like it’s possible to push past the inner critic. Rather shut the voice up for good.
An excerpt in regards to the Royal NZ Infantry Regt:
“The role of the Infantry is to seek out and close with the *enemy*, to kill or capture him, to seize and hold ground, repel attack, by day or by night, regardless of season, weather or terrain”.
Life will always be a battle and you need to be ready to fight through it NO MATTER WHAT. Like most thoughts of worthlessness and despair, our inner most thoughts/feelings are borne of adversity – that in itself proves that we have our battle scars and can take a helluva lot more before we dare give in. Life will toss beaucoup lemons your way, so continue to “make lemonade”, and never give up the fight.
