Sexual assault is mostly against women, and even the statistic included pertains to women. Why were men portrayed as victims of this sort of violence in the same capacity that women are? Men are never accused of asking for it while women are. I feel like this would have been more powerful if men were largely omitted. I am not saying that men are never the victims of sexual assault, that is definitely not the case. However, sexual assault against women is the result of horrible social constructs that are ingrained in our society and occurs much more frequently.
Abuse of any kind is the work of evil people. Why anyone does it, and particularly to women and children, is beyond my understanding. I don’t think the patriarchal construct has been the lest bit successful.

You make an interesting point. Reported sexual assaults are mostly against women. The young men in this video were fully bringing their support to the cause and I applaud them. I cannot claim to know the reasoning behind the producers(my classmates) option of including men but I think maybe they we trying not to exclude anyone. Kind of don’t want this to become a war of the sexes.
I liked this video. I think including guys in it was awesome. The fact is guys get sexually assaulted often too and it’s great to bring awareness to that. Especially liked how they encouraged others to make their own vids for this.
