You did the 1 hour challenge…
Can i ask you to write a song, that includes all 12 notes?? 😀  There’s a 24 hour time limit on this one..
Rules:
-Grace notes don’t count as using a tone.
-Must be no longer than 3 minutes long.
Suggestions:
-some kind of visual? Even if its exported as a midi and played in synthesia? It would be really nice, to see what you’re playing.
Hope you accept 🙂

This is less of a challenge, and more of a curiosity to what you come up with.. 🙂
I think this is cool. I like the idea of friendly challenges going on at the site here.
Will be interesting if she takes you up on it and comes up with something.
cool beans man.
Fascinating….
Making sure I understand…
3 minutes or less, and has to include all 12 tones of the scale.
Not necessarily a 12-tone piece, but could also be a traditional key signature which includes all accidentals.
In 24 hours.
Ooooookaaay.
Here’s my plan.
I haven’t eaten all day long, and it’s already past 9:00 pm. So I will go get dinner, and then I will come back and start putting something together. I’ll let you know when I started, and by that time tomorrow night I hope to have something finished.
Any rules on instrumentation, or can I use whatever seems interesting?
I won’t be able to do video format, since I own no gadget capable of taking video.
you can change keys or whatever you’d like, just have all 12 tones. You can start whenever, next week it you’d like 🙂
any instrument, all instruments, it doesn’t really matter 🙂
Woohoo!
Ok. I started around 9:30-ish.
In order so you can see a visual, I can make a few screen-caps of the score, so you will at least be able to verify that all 12 notes have been covered.
This is fun!
you don’t have to have a visual, it would just be cool
I will still include a few screencaps which will show that I met the terms and conditions.
I’m still having fun working on it.
So far the key wobbles between A minor and C major, with lots of bizarre things in between.
Instrumentation: Two trumpets, one french horn, one trombone, one tuba, and one piano.
Meter: 7/8
Tempo: 120
I think so far it sounds like a drunk ballerina who recently sold her soul to Satan.
Fun! Fun!
I’ve been working on it for three and a half hours and I’m almost done.
Thats great! Drunken Ballerina’s who recently sold their soul to Satan are like my favorite pieces to listen to!
It’s done.
I’m making the screencaps now.
I’ll include one section of the grand staves so you can get an idea of the instrumentation, plus the opening piano part, with color coding so you can see that all 12 notes are represented.
Ok.
The post is in my drafts, and I will publish it sometime Sunday evening (not sure what time zone you’re in, but I’m on Eastern Time.)
In the meantime, I’m guessing the site will probably let you go into the recent media uploads and listen to the file and see the score excerpts.
🙂
