Anyone ever tried DMT? I’ve heard many people have had success in treating their depression or PTSD with DMT and other psychedelics. I tried DMT for the first time last night and OMG I’ve never experienced ANYTHING like that before in my life! The experience was so intense and real I came out of it in shock and my body was shaking. You truly cannot explain the experience to somebody, any description does it no justice.
I’ve been seriously depressed and having suicidal thoughts on a daily basis and today was the first day in a long time I didn’t wake up feeling severely depressed. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still not cured, but it feels like at least some of the weight from my daily depression has been lifted. I don’t know if that’s normal or how long it will last but after my DMT trip something definitely changed inside of me.

I have mitral-valve prolapse and a-Fib, so no, I don’t use drugs of any kind. I sometimes take the herb Kava Kava root. And there’s a complex herbal mixture I sometimes take that has Kava Kava Root, Valerian, and Passion Flower in it. But again, no, I stay away from drugs.
Kinda odd, eh? A guy with suicidal tendencies staying away from drugs because of a heart condition. Hahahahaha!
Depending on how severe your heart condition is, DMT probably would not be a good idea. Though they say the only real physiological change that happens when you smoke DMT is your blood pressure increases some but, the intense experience itself may shock you and your heart lol.
I’ve never tried DMT but I know people who have done Ayahuasca. (DMT is the compound in Ayahuasca that makes people trip). I was told that tripping on Aya was like getting 10 years of therapy with one dose.
You might like a site called erowid dot com. It’s devoted to explaining what different drugs do, and you’ll find plenty of testimonials from ‘psychonauts’ (explorers of the mind). There’s a lot of information on that site, as well as links that can point you in interesting directions.
Smoking DMT, which is what I did, only lasts from 10-15 minutes, but it felt like hundreds of years had passed. It was scary and pleasurable all at the same time. The experience is so hard to truly explain. I’ll check that site out, thanks.
I once saw a Netflix documentary on DMT. It said that it can help treat depression. Do you plan on trying it again?
I saw the same documentary on Netflix, I believe it was called DMT: The spirit molecule. I’m contemplating to try it again.
I have been thinking about delving into those realms and getting some experience with the molecule to help me get out of this rut I’m a part of. It’s pretty funny that there was a post on sp about it. Talk about synchronicity…
I think it could go either way so you have to know how to use it to get a positive effect from it instead of negative one
If you’ve never tried other, much milder psychedelics before I wouldn’t suggest jumping right into DMT. The experience is so intense that if you’re not used to what to expect from a psychedelic you may have a real bad trip. I have tried other psychedelics before and I can say that DMT was entirely another experience, even I wasn’t fully prepared for what I was going to experience.
