I haven’t really had time to paint anything of substance lately. But I did take some awesome pics today.
I present to you Passionvine #3.
I haven’t really recovered from the salt, beer and sunburn I subjected myself to last weekend. Hopefully this week I’ll get back into the swing of things.
Yes, I have been beyond lazy this week. Not really feeling like taking on some meticulous painting project when I can binge on Hanibal for days on Amazon Prime, which I accidentally bought. Took that lemon and totally made lemonade.
I know I know I could just cancel it…but…but….there is so much there to distract me…
Lovely. What did you use to take that? I used to really enjoy photography back in the days when people still used cameras, and not just mobile phones. I snap pictures with my phone, but the quality isn’t as good.
I don’t have a Samsung, so that must be it. They have better image quality than mine.
I think my phone was hacked last night by hidden malware on apps, though. I uninstalled a bunch of apps and rebooted the device, but it still isn’t quite working properly (won’t even let me manually uninstall apps). Looks like tomorrow I’ll have to bite the bullet and buy a new one after all (I might get a new number while I’m at it). There’s stuff saved on this that I can’t easily transfer, so it’s a pain in the ass. I’m on Airplane mode with WiFi currently, but I’m worried now that a hacker might be watching what I do. He/she seemingly took over my keyboard and was typing nonsense, but some sentences made sense, like when they told me “you have yourself a nice weekend.” They also mentioned something about “Android development.”
Geez. Moral of the story, be very careful about what apps you install, and don’t click on any sketchy sites. My Anti-Virus and anti-malware software didn’t detect anything either.
Then again, I did accidentally drop the phone about an hour before all this happened, but it was working fine up until things suddenly got wonky and the screen started moving on its own, opening up random apps, and typing.
This seemed to stop after I uninstalled more apps and such.
I also discovered that the American government, Chinese government, and Japanese government (clearly stated), as well as servers from some other countries (including Sweden and Turkey), had installed ‘trusted certificate’ roots… which I believe means they were unashamedly spying on Android users and collecting personal information. 😐 There were lots of other sketchy-sounding rooted ‘trusted certificates’ too, so after googling their origin, I disabled the ones that didn’t sound necessary.
Yeah, Pics are a form of art too. So post em if you got em. I like photography.
I did a cross country road trip a few years ago and took thousands of pics on that one trip. It was the time of my life. Picture taking is certainly a form of art when done well. Lol and you do it well.
Yeah I have been trying to stay out of the hot sun here in south Florida now that we are entering into the hot of hot months. I also am trying to cut down on the beer drinking but its hard.
but keep up the good work.
I don’t usually consider my pics artwork, more like a step into the next stage. They help me frame my painting. My life has improved 100% since I started painting again.
It is like I had this hole in my heart that was there for so long I had stopped noticing it. Then it was filled. And now I can’t imagine life without if filled.
Until this fucking mental illness takes it away that is. But until then, I’m going to enjoy the hole being filled.
It is a passionvine flower. Texas native. No matter how dry or hot it gets it comes back year after year. This year with all the rain it is more kudzu than decorative flower, but I’m just letting it run wild. Who needs a privacy fence fromt he road when I have that amazing vine covering everything.
Plus the chickens like eating the helpless bugs that nibble ont he leaves. And it is a source of shade for them, which they enjoy. Oh to be a chicken and my only concern is where to hide my eggs so the crazy lady that lives in the house can’t find them.
Green and purple are always a nice contrast in color. The purple brings out the blue in the leaves and the green brings out the red in the flowers. Not complimentary colors but they do work well together. Thank you mother nature. You are brilliant in your color pallet.
Yes…I need to get back to painting. In a dry spell at the moment which I am enjoying. Sometimes the drive to paint is exhausting.
passiflora incarnata it be exact … and yes it’s a stunning flower – the vine can pe problematic if it gets out of control but it’s a perennial that dies off and regrows yearly … I hadn’t seen it til I moved to the US southeast and come to find out that it’s fairly common throughout the US southeast but can range as far north as Ohio/Pennsylvanian.
Thanks for posting – I think I may investigate growing this vine since the area I currently reside seems to fit it’s preferred environment. The fruits this vine/flower produced is known as a maypop and is supposedly edible and also has some medicinal properties … the plant/fruit is a close relative to the same passion fruit used to flavor Hawaiian Punch … this variety – the maypop off the passion vine is said to taste like guava.

I used my samsung galaxy phone. LOL. It is all in the framing and moment.

All very unsettling.
I’d just dump it and start from scratch of you can.
Salt, Beer and Sunburn.
I like it. That’s what I’m naming my next tour south of the border. -Salt, Beer & Sunburnt- The 2016 Tour
Nice. South of the Boarder the rest stop I take it?

Beautiful picture. That’s a very interesting looking flower.
