YES!! Numb is better then pain. I think that is why most of us like to have some drinks here and there because when you drink alcohol you get little numb to the pain of life. Thats the reason I drink sometimes. LOL

pretty much sums it up. When your numb you are more comfortable

I remember that when I wrote that part of the reason was the hope that such a feeling would be able to finally drive me to suicide.
