- How can people be so mean?
- How can you not care that your daughter is suicidal? I tried to take my life 3 times this year. After the last one in November, my dad said he wanted to keep tabs on me (since he moved up north that week). He hasn’t called me since November 10th, 3 days after my attempt. I’ve called him every week since and he says “Can’t talk. I’m busy taking care of Amaris” (my step-mom’s granddaughter) “She’s so amazing. My first granddaughter.” ??? Okay… cool. He’ll regret that when his baby girl dies within the next 9 months.

1. Because most people don’t care about other people and being mean makes them feel good.
2. Your dad sounds disgusting, I’m sorry. Not only does he not act like a father should, he doesn’t even act like a friend. Personally, I had a moment when I stopped seeing my dad as a ‘father’, i realized he’s just a guy. and not a good one… I don’t trust him and I don’t expect anything good from him. Maybe you should too?
If you do kill yourself, he’ll be sad, but get over it faster than you think, especially now, when he has a brand new ‘amazing granddaughter’ with a stupid name…
I think you need a friend who really cares about you
You can’t control others. This is a lesson of the clearest kind that you can’t live for others’ approval. You have to just kind of do what seems meaningful to you, and then hope someone likes you for it. Some won’t. Others probably will.
If you doubt me, consider the wholly unsympathetic figures throughout history, who have nonetheless had adoring admirers, trusted friends and doting spouses.
