“Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work, driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for, in order to get to a job that you need so you can pay for the clothes, car and the house that you leave empty all day in order to afford to live in it.”

Great quote, very accurate.
YES! Perfect quote!
People don’t realize the absurdity of it all.
Nope, they don’t. And they get angry and defensive when you point it out.
Exactly. Humans are dumb.
That’s the beauty of life’s absurdity
Love this. I disagree with you on one thing, though – MOST people don’t realize the absurdity of it all. Most people on this site do. Good post!
Oh you reminded me of absurdism. Not sure if it leads to realism or just cynicism and even justification thereof. But thing i am sure is that its logic is hard to deny while it’s also hard to keep decadence at bay. regarding decadence, i am referring to one of the three stages of civilization(Barbarity-Civilization-Decadence) explored by Arran Gare. good read.
What book is that covered in? I want to read it.
Here you go.

@Chip- right. That’s why we’re all depressed- the ones who see the truth, see the world for what it is. Seeing and understanding reality makes one mad / insane / depressed. Ignorance is so bliss…
Great point. Someone on this site commented recently that (I’m probably not gonna get this exactly the way they said it) depression is caused by people seeing the way things really are, which is in line with your thought. I guess if you see what IS, as opposed to what you WANT to be, depression naturally follows. Man, the photo of all that traffic is exhausting to look at. It’s, well, no pun intended, depressing. It represents everything I want to escape.
In the world of capitalism, anyway.
In a weird way it’s a good thing that I’m on disability checks and don’t need to get a job. I would kill myself if it came down to that. I don’t want to live a pointless life as a slave.
. . . the guy in the white car is checking SP on his phone. His post is titled “Traffic sucks today.”
This!!!
