Teens are too young for suicide

I understand your opinion.
But age has nothing to do with mental illness or a person’s trauma or experience.
I’m a 16-year-old girl. My parents abused us and were addicted to alcohol and drugs. Me and my two brothers were carted around the UK sometimes living with an abusive dad or going to women’s shelters across the country. We were put into care when I was 2, failed adoption a bit of cruelty and then actually adopted when I was 5. In the space of 8 years, I was sexually abused, physically and emotionally abused. My brother went into care. Family relationships crumbled and I was in care again by 12. Depression hit, I moved to foster home after foster home, tried to kill myself multiple times and then things evened out. I moved schools, have been living in the same foster family for 2 and a half years and I have friends. But in January, my mental health deteriorated. I had no idea that I had anxiety, I just felt depressed and out of control of my feelings. I spent the last two years focusing on me and school. I targeted straight As at GCSE’s, 4 A Levels and a Maths Degree at a good university (I like Warwick). But I’m at a place where that isn’t possible anymore. My future won’t be what I have battled so hard for. And I can’t lose anything else so important to me.
Alot of adults can’t even imagine what some teenagers have been through, rape, crippling mental illness, bullying – whatever it is. And not to forget that pain is relative. What you can handle is different to me.
