waiting on something sucks.. but good mindset towards it. I think you’ve waited other things out before.
whatever it is I hope it’s only the two weeks.
Waiting isn’t so bad. It’s waiting with no money, wondering when the utilities will get disconnected, or if the union will sweep in and save the day before that happens. I’m in an arbitration process with my employer, so I’ll get backpay and return to work once that’s complete, but if it takes more than two weeks, I’ll have to find a new place to stay.
are you a technician/electrician? those are part of the union where I work, but no one else is. I’m not sure how it all works.
well that sucks a lot more. you’d think they’d be aware that the person on the other end actually needs their job/money and resolve it quickly..
They’re well aware. The bosses put up a fight in the hopes that they can get the employee to seek new employment rather than have to pay $20,000 in lawyer bills + back pay. I want to hit them in the pocketbook, so I’m doing whatever I can to avoid folding like that. And no, everyone in a floor job is unionized where I work. It’d be cool if the managers were union, too, but that’s not allowed here in the US.
oh right, big businesses are more focused on money than people. I’d want to do the same thing in your shoes.
