I have a thousand things I need to do, but I just can’t. I have the day off, so I can’t. It’s a day off. Which means I can’t do anything but vegetate. I have to replace a collapsed lifter in my engine. Can’t. Day off. Have to drive to my dad’s house to help him with stuff. Can’t. Day off. I can change the cat litter and feed the monsters, but they’ll start jumping on me and miaowing at my face if I don’t do that. Can do that.
I’m out of food. Can’t go to the store. Day off. I need a shower. Can’t. Bathroom’s all the way on the other side of the apartment and that would involve moving. Day off. I can’t even answer the phone right now. It’s all the way on the other side of the room. Quiet, you! *throws empty beer bottle*
Gah. When did life get so exhausting?

I’d probably make it 2 weeks, if that.
I can work the occaissional 12 hour shift, but unless you get a 3 day weekend (Which I doubt) it wouldn’t work, even for my schedule I need the first day of the weekend to recharge before doing anything on the 2nd.
Weirdly, I do get three day weekends. Work monday-thursday, 10hr shifts. If I worked weekends, I’d have four days off. Lucky dogs. They work 36 hours and get paid for 40. Mandatory overtime is a killer, though. The work itself is what’s exhausting.
Ha I might make it the 2 months then.
Enjoy your vegetative day.
How does that work? Do they get cut hours to accommodate the other shifts?
I hate mandated overtime. Theres a line here that had mandated weekends for forever (and then they wizened up and went to every other sat cuz people were quitting). And for you that would kinda take away the benefit of a 3 day weekend, lame.
I can believe that. Are the breaks spread out decently during the day?
This place isn’t unionized, so fifth shift gets pampered. They work three 12hr shifts and take a four day weekend. And the break schedule makes no sense. You work 4.5hrs of a 10hr shift before first break. It’s maddening if you smoke. And then they’ll fire you if you smoke anywhere on company property.
The only saving grace is I can work mandatory OT hours whenever I want. Friday? Sure. Any time is good. Saturday? Sure, any time is good. Sunday….? You get it. I won’t get any benefits until I get hired on, and nobody ever gets hired on at this place. Temps4Life! Yay.
I don’t even work and I can’t. Give yourself a break. Cheers.
rivets I like you so i’m telling you if you need to get something done get the fuck up! 🙂
I up having a coffee royal, I am painting my house exterior, i’m tired! but it’s mind over matter once you get started things get done! Don’t think about how many things you have to do just get something done the most important, then take a break, get something done everyday, it adds up.
i’m painting a whole house today i’ll just paint an area and stop, then relax ,feed the cat!
Well, I am going to visit my dad today. I’m not fixing my lifter, since that’ll take 8 life hrs I’ll never get back. Just fill ‘er up with oil and do it again when I get home. Maybe I’ll do the lifter tomorrow, since I’m sure my dad’ll load me up with ritalin or something before I leave.
Rivets just got in from painting! just joking 🙂 did like i said painting a 20×15 area by bush! was done in around 3 hrs was drunk by then and came in watched TV. i practice what i preach tomorrow another day.
Oh, and I’m going to buy a Sad Meal from Burger King. They have those now. It’s refreshing to be able to buy a hamburger that’s honest about how it feels.
We need a sad holiday holiday too.
Did you google sad meals? I actually laughed out loud. I don’t know if the BK in my area has them yet, but the whole idea behind them is comical. It’s like mental health awareness baked into a marketing ploy – they have pissed off meals, sad meals, IDGAF meals, salty meals…
I don’t want an IDGAF meal because they’d probably throw a raw fish into a box next to a pile of mushy salt and uncooked potato slices.
