All we wanted was a decent life- a decent job with a decent income, in a decent house, in a decent neighborhood, be able to afford food, healthcare, etc. Maybe even a reasonably nice house or neighborhood. But everything is out of reach for many of us. For many of us, we have shit lives, in shitty apts, in shitty neighborhoods, shackled in invisible chains. The poor have invisible chains around their necks and feet. We do NOT have Freedom. The poor are never free. And no, the “poor” isn’t a tiny percentage. HALF of America are the working poor.
Why are so many Americans depressed? Gee, I wonder why… What could possibly be the reason? Hm, I guess we’ll never know…

You might be right. We suffer because of these unfulfilled desires and we need to achieve them rather than take pills because we can’t do it.
also, don’t know if you’ve been following the Canadian wildfires, but enough has burned by now (which is less than 15% of the total fire season), to build 3 million wood homes
it just sat with me, we have the F-ing materials…. and honestly building homes gets MUCH cheaper at scale…. but no, we’re letting it burn, choking many cities and destroying lives
quite the metaphor for modern economics that
we could fix all of our problems, the materials and willpower are there (incidentally do you know how much goes into fighting those fires? Millions….. surely could be better spent) but our stupid economic system isn’t interested, prefers to kill us.
yes, we have all the money to fix homelessness, give free universal healthcare like all the rest of Europe, fix all the roads and bridges, etc. but nah, let’s give all the money to the war in Ukraine and all the wars in the Middle East bc it enriches those in the war making business- the military contractors, etc.
-how many trillions have we sent to just Ukraine alone?
-how many trillions have we sent to helping poor Americans?
It’s all hopeless. My own personal life aside, this is why I’m depressed AF, knowing this shit is going on in our country, all this corruption, all this theft of money from the masses to the already rich.
This is why I couldn’t make it out of poverty- or at least stay in the middle income after I got sick. In America, you are only one sickness away from being poor and screwed.
Anyhow, we live in the “#1 country in the world!” -_-
have i followed it? i’ve SMELLED it. you can smell the wildfires all the way here in the US (and i don’t even live in the northern most part of the US)
