The city has moods, me and this city have gone round and round. I happen to know a few places where the city will drop things off for me to find when it wants me to find them, and today was a day I got that itch.
Sure enough there it was, a 200-300 dollar keyboard, for $20. Right next to it an $80 amp for $35 so I’m sold and I grab them both. The keyboard is name brand, a Yamaha. The sound is really good. All I had to get was a cord.
The thing about it is this is something I couldn’t get myself new, I don’t know why. Used though, beat up a bit, I can justify it. That’s the way it goes, I need to soothe my wounded pride, the city provides a means.
Music is both the cure and method of my madness.

Amazing find most certainly. Usually in terms of local pickups back when I was looking for something entry level to practice on, models such as the Yamaha P45/P71 would go for nearly half their price at most (so $300 out of $500) and would be sold out in hours.
That’s only in terms of Facebook Marketplace listings though. Physical places that remain physical only really reveal stuff to the regulars who are, of course, moving around. Much easier for people to tap around on the phone screen than to actually move for things.
At least you are finding some small uses out of your physical environment, seems quite turbulent otherwise.
Music has a way of soothing the soul. It’s my belief that it exists everywhere. I’m glad that your city saw your need, and I’m sure it will benefit from it’s gift to you. Someday I hope to disappear into a city, but I haven’t found one that trusts me enough yet.
