I don’t think so. Most thoughts of suicide are caused by the disease clinical depression. I think if you’re sick enough to kill yourself God will forgive you. Still, some people will argue that Suicide violates the Sixth Commandment (“Thou shall not murder.”) but that is regarding killing another person (I believe). So…
1.) The Bible tells us that at the moment of salvation a believer’s sins are forgiven (John 3:16; 10:28). When we become a child of God, all of our sins, even those committed after salvation, are no longer held against us.
2.) Some people believe that all who commit suicide go immediately to Hell. However, the Bible never says if this is the case. The Bible is silent on this issue.
Most Christians believe what matters most to God is how a person lives his life rather than how he or she dies.
the Bible was written by people to control people. There is no hell besides the one that we are in. When we die we go right back to where we were before we were born. (Which I dont recall being so bad)
No, God would understand the big picture, if he is supposed to be all knowing. What about when people die from smoking, etc..then that would have to be considered suicide? I just don’t buy it at all. What if you saved 1000 people but killed yourself? Just my thoughts for what they’re worth!
You know, when the Bible was written,
and the re-written, then edited and re-edited,
and then translated from dead languages,
and then re-re-translated,
and then voted on,
and the re-edited, and then re-re-re-edited, and then re-translated,
and then given to kings for them to take their favorite parts out,
and then re-edited, then re-translated, and then re-edited,
and then given to the Pope for him to approve,
then re-re-translated, then re-re-written, re-re-edited,
re-translated, and re-edited again,
all based on stories told 30 to 90 years AFTER they supposedly happend, that were passed around by word of mouth over a thousand years ago by mostly uneducated people who could barely read or write..
Ever played the game of telephone?
One person whispers something into someone else’s ear, they whisper into the next person’s ear, and so on.
By the time it’s been passed down to the final person, the phrase or sentence bears nearly no resemblance to what was originally said by the first person!
It sounds like to me the Bible the world’s oldest game of telephone..
I don’t believe in “heaven” or “hell” or the “God and Devil” characters (except for the pair on that interwebs cartoon show). I feel these were invented as psychological tools of control – science basically supports that. Besides, even the “smart” people of ancient times though lightening was caused by “God” being upset. Regardless, the fact you’re asking this question indicates you do believe in the concept so here goes:
Most mainstream religions say “yes” because it is “murder” and a sin committed before you have the opportunity to repent therefore … off to the “lake of fire” for you bubba. Catholics have traditionally been the same but for somewhat different reasons. However, lately most have been contradicting themselves, hell, even the Pope recently announced that atheists will go to heaven! (woohoo! I’m in!). Most are stating that NO you will not because they feel it is either a case of one not being of sound mind or a situation where there was no where else to turn. Not even the “Holy Bible” really speaks of it. On point: “He” gives us free will but if there is only one option … what does “He” expect? To poop out a solution complete with rainbows and glitter?
If are are seriously curious or concerned I suggest popping by the local church, hopping in the booth and asking the guy in the black & white collar about it. Go to several as you’ll most likely receive varying answers but really: this will give you a basic understanding of their thought on the matter.
Then you’ll have to sit down, weigh the information you discovered and decide for yourself. No one can answer this question for you. It’s not a question such as “what is 2+2?”, which kind of says something if you ask me rather, you’ll need to decide for yourself after researching.

The bible says you go the hell if you’ve ever pulled a Sunday shift, eaten oysters, or worn polyester. Really. I wouldn’t sweat it much.
Right on, Twitch. If we commit suicide then we depart from Hell.
To the bible, suicide is as bad as murdering someone. In reality, you are murdering yourself. Read this: http://www.gotquestions.org/suicide-Bible-Christian.html

Hell was a medieval construct to scare stupid peasants into obeying the church. Actual hell is supposed to be merely the absence of god…
Which means we are actually already in hell….

Hell is what we are born into. Death is deliverance from that.
